Smoking pot and driving..

So who else out there does it just to drive around by yourself and/or with friends? Those of you who do know its totally different then being intoxicated and those of you who don't might think its crazy and dangerous so I wanted to get this out in the open and possibly dispell some of the rumors that it's hazardous to drive while high. To me, theres nothing more soothing then driving around bumping with the windows down during a nice, sunny day or a clear, cool night - besides the 3C's of course (sex, sleep, and ****). I understand being high does toy with a persons reaction time, and im not saying im immuned from it, but I still make sure not to lose myself in the music and have my own little gauge on staying extra alert with cars around especially at intersections. Who else feels me on this, and you pot flamers can kiss my *** ahead of time because obviously you don't have the ability to understand weed and getting high yet your the ones who most likely have that DUI stop on your records, not us.

Wow man, you are going to get flamed hard. Even though you were probably blazed while posting this, doing what you just admitted causes numerous deaths per year. Just wait till someone reads this that has experienced a lost loved one due to it.

I met this guy who use to drive high and drunk at the same time.. He was a pretty big guy and chugged half a bottle of mccormicks vodka. He wouldn't listen to me about driving drunk so I went with him just in case he like steered wrong. Well he drove pretty well, he even whipped out his pipe and started smoking weed. I was like wtf is wrong with u.. He didn't swerved, and strangely had pretty decent reaction times to stoplights. He also drove a manual while smoking pot.

I always play the Designated Driver. I can pretty much drive anything on 4 wheels since my car is stick.
I don't touch ANYTHING if the keys are in my pocket.

Stupid people do stupid ****. I can give you a an infinite number of personal reasons why you shouldn't drive high/drunk. Period.

When I did smoke weed and then drive stoned...I for some god damn reason admired street lights. I stood at a street light once for 10 minutes. I thought the effects of red, orange, and green created like this....this...eclipse of light, it was weird. Then, I saw the moose cross the street...I wont ever forget that. i dont do that anymore. It got old. Plus, to many parking tickets for parking in weird places. To many scratches and dents for hitting parked cars.

Wink Check it out

I hope it's ok to post links as maybe a little research is in order...
http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/...g/driving2.htm

"The foremost impression one gains from reviewing the literature is that no clear relationship has ever been demonstrated between marijuana smoking and either seriously impaired driving performance or the risk of accident involvement. The epidemiological evidence, as limited as it is, shows that the combination of THC and alcohol is over-represented in injured and dead drivers and more so in those who actually caused the accidents to occur. Yet there is little if any evidence to indicate that drivers who have used marijuana alone are any more likely to cause serious accidents than drug free drivers. To a large extent, the results from driving simulator and closed-course tests corroborate the epidemiological findings by indicating that THC in single inhaled doses up to 250 µg/kg has relatively minor effects on driving performance, certainly less than BACs in the range of 0.08Ê-Ê0.10g%." (Source see above link)

This thread wasn't ment to pluck at the nerves of those who lost a loved one to a traffic accident obviously, and no I wasn't blazed when I created it. I consider smoking an occasional recreational habit for me that calms my nerves from this hectic life I live. The purpose of thread this is out of curiousity and if you disagree with my lifestyle and want to bash me for it you can refer to the precursor to any flamers in my original post and kiss my ***. I know oodles and oodles of people who do whip out a boul and smoke while driving or roll a blunt beforehand simply to smoke it while driving, a handful of these people are my friends and have their own place so its not out of privacy from mommy and daddy, but like I said before I perfer to smoke beforehand and not during. I'm neither proud or ashamed of it and certainly don't do it just to be like my friends or seem cool, its something I KNOW I can handle and have never had an incident so far and admitting to it doesn't phase me one way or another.

P.S. - Thanks for the link with those findings Flipside, made your first post on here an extremely useful one, welcome to the site.

My friends do that all the time. When I did it me and my friend stephen would get so blazed, we would have to pull over and chill for a bit cause we were so stoned to keep driving. At that time though, we used to smoke hydro blunts, one right after the other.

Driving with any impairement *alcohol, weed, drugs, etc* in my opinion is a VERY bad idea. It may seem fun at the time but wait till you get pulled over or worse yet hurt yourself or someone. For those who think its "fun" and it won't happen to you, you are only waiting for a wake up call cause one day it WILL happen to you or someone you know.

First of all: Screw you, I am grown up and most likely am smarter then you, turst me on that.

Second: Smoking weed kills brain cells and thats why I created this thread..? Whats that mean? And no, I already explained WHY I made this thread, don't let your emotions get in the way of logic, please.

Third: I'm sorry about your uncle, whether you care to accept my sympathies or not is up to you, but I don't think I'm invincible and you don't know **** about me and how my body reacts to the weed I smoke. People talking on their cell phones while driving are just as bad if not worse then someone who is driving while high and I know most if not all of you do that, even you I bet, someone admitting they chit-chat on the cell phone for over 10 minutes while driving on the regular is just as prominant a confession as being high (not to be confused with being drunk) best part about that is the cops can't as easily tell when your high then when your on your cell, heh.

Fourth and Final: I'll ask again, please don't hijack my thread with stories of loved ones who lost their lives or got injured due to someone being high and getting into a car accident, I can't back up what other people do but I'm smart enough and have enough sense to drive around areas I know well while high, I don't want to explain myself anymore then that so don't call me an idiot when you just want to take out your frustration out on me.
