What should I get

I dont have much money, but I am going to start building my show car, right now I have a 95 pathfinder to get around in but there is no way I am keeping it. what is a good car I can get cheap...and by cheap I am talking...2-3k...its not much.. but I was thinking mabey a 91 civic hatchback or 93 hb...or crx or sumthin else I dunno I need your opinions...

what about the crx till...I have been leaning towards it...its cheap and it has lots of aftermarket parts....
