efficency.

hmmmm...
i recently been going out driving at about 2 am every morning (very fun, you own the roads at 2 am in the morning).
but anyway, i noticed my cars running the fastest its ever ran..im at 40,000 miles..i ws thinkin maybe its fully broken in...
or maybe its just how i been taking care of my car...good gas..full synthetic oil and k n n oil filter every 3,000 miles..i dont know...but my seems to have gotten faster since i got it 3 years ago...

it could be the colder air the car is sucking in at night

Most likely, when i had my mazda i would see a small increase in boost when driving at night as opposed to driving during daytime.

BTW those 2 am drives are pretty fun

its the colder air at night. makes a considerable difference, if you have really hot days like we have here in texas. Ofcourse good maintenance does make a difference, but that change is too gradual to feel all of a sudden. But hey, as long as you are satisfied, good luck

From talking with my friend who has ran many civics for autocross, Including a CSP preped CRX. he said that the Dseries really doesnt make alot of power untill you wear them in. He said any of the D engines he built for racing didnt do too well untill they had about 30,000 miles on them.

You should try driving in the fog. The engine really runs well. COLD air.

Yeah - I think it's all in your head. I had that same feeling tonight - It was also raining (heavy) so it was pretty slick - felt like i was gliding over the road!

I used to work up untill the wee hours of the morning...

but, yeah, it's probably not going that fast. Maybe it's just broken in like you said, 40k sounds just about right for most engines.
