oil filter on waaay too tight

Use the pliers that are extendable...dont know what its really called but you can change the notches to make it open wider, This always works on every car ive changed the oil filter in.

drawback is you probably wont be able to use the crushed old oil filter anymore

My buddy has worked at 2 different dealership companies, the techs got a base salary plus commission. Doesn't mean they would purposely over-tighten anything so you come back, but it means they do things as fast as possible.
