nice but strange sound!!!

i went to O.C. and there was an import night there....i saw a lot of nice A$$ cars. I'd like to know wut the strange gas/pressure relieving sound is that comes from the cars when the driver switches gears... i thought that it might be the turbo...but i could be wrong!!!

It's def a BOV. also belive it or not some intakes make that noise.
This rsx base i know, put a cold air and everytime he shifts it makes a blow off type noise.

Its the blow off valve of a turbocharged car. Some intakes have a similar sound, but its not nearly as loud or defined as a real BOV.

on my friends crx he doesnt have turbo just a swapped b16a wit intake and clutch and when he shifts it hella stalls and makes a funny *** sound but it isnt turbo his car is still fast hits low 14's

Can someone name some BOVs that make those type of noises?
I guess a good example would be the noises from many of the t/c drift cars.
It doesn't make your typical PSH! noise, but more like a PSH SH SH SH SH SH!

HKS SSQV is the best out there. at the latest show i went to i was able to hear an Evo with that BOv from a good 1/2 mile away.

My car does that from the stock bypass valve after I took off the intake resonator. It gets real tiring after a while especially on the freeway, so I put it back on.
