Dog for a ride?
I was just wondering if anyone has ever taken their dog on a mini road trip with them?
I did that today and it wasnt as pleasant as I wanted it to be. I mean he didnt go to the bathroom in the car but he did break my grandfathers old car window and jump out of it in motion.
The dogs fine, but does anyone have any suggestions to help calm my puppy down

You just gotta go on a lot of rides with them so they get used to it.
My dog is calm for the most part in car trips now, she just like's having at least a paw on you while you drive.
Of course, the dog doesn't ride in my car anymore, only in my fiance's, she decided to chew a seat belt when we left her alone for like 10 minutes, so that ended that right quick.

Once they are used to it, there's no problems.
Lots of short rides helped him get used to riding in the car so he wouldn't be carsick.
Now I can ride with the windows open without him chasing every damn squirrel he sees.

use tranquilizer pills, thats what we use on our lab when he is too hyper. Most of the time he is great but sometimes he gets freaked out or hyper and we give him half a pill and he is out for 3 hours.
