why? since the rsx and the tsx which both have k series (k20 and k24) are made in japan, my guess the motors are manufactured there as well......not sure where the civic si is made tho

A percentage is made in the US and overseas. They're assembled in different parts of the US..
The only car that I know of that is made in Japan 100% is the S2K, don't quote me on that though.
