Wink Mpg is looking very very good....

Hey guys - just got my o4magnesium last friday and I'm loving it. I've done some quick tests with mpg and I've gotten 25.5 in the city and I tested a rather short highway trip today and I averaged 35.66 mpg. I'm totally stoked with both numbers considering the car is brand new - i got it with 7 miles on the odo - and our other car is a 93 j30, which I averaged 22 mpg on the highway.

So, my question is - are those numbers about right? I'm assuming they are and I'm assuming with increased mileage I may see city get up to 30 and the highway around 40. What do you guys think?

Btw - auto with 85 octane.

Thanks for the replies and I'm happy I found the site.

I never actually calculated to see how much mpg's I'm getting. I would say about 30mpg in the city, and 35-36 on the highway. 02 EX 5spd, 89 octane

it depends on how you drive, but your numbers are better then what i started with when i got my 04 back in nov. I started at about 28mpg city and 30mpg highway. After about 14000miles on my car i get around 30 city and 33 highway. But you'll notice after your first oil change that your mileage has gone up. By then your car is fully broken in and your ecu knows how you drive. I noticed my mileage did go up a little bit more from 5000miles to 10000miles but i think its the combination of my ecu knowing how i drive better and me driving slower because of high gas prices.

when I first got my car, I got 44mpg because I never go over 55mph and 3000rpm on the first 600 miles.
now I got an average of 36mpg on freeway, 30mpg on local

nice color choice. i got my magnesium 04 ex coupe a month ago. it was the only manual ex coupe they had that didn't have a bunch of extras on it. i've put about 3000 miles on mine....mostly highway at 70-75mph. i've averaged 35.5 mpg so far.

Thanks for the replies guys/and gals - Things seem to be looking pretty good so far and I'm looking forward to checking my mpg on my roadtrip this weekend - salt lake to kansas city. Two full days of driving between 70-80. So I should get a very good idea of where my engine is standing as of right now.

that explains why you used such low octane fuel. higher elevations = less O2 to burn, you will get better milage once you come out of the mountains.

broken in, during summer, i got 38mpg highway on my auto vic (AC running, and with multiple people in it).

have a nice trip through kansas (i hate that drive...)
