one of the old caprices with an LT1 would prob run fast. as far as the crown vics, they have some ***** but would have a hard time catching up to some cars if they had a big jump. but thats where the radio comes into play, so there are additional units waiting ahead to spike em etc.

the crown vics used today are just basic police packages. nothing turbo or anything fancy like that.

I think the point of patrol cars isn't to race but to be strong and hold up when being used under pressure.

Those crown vics can be driven hard and still run like a champ. And they can take a pretty good beating on the outside as well.

hah.. a 14 or 15 sec car against a 16 sec honda and you think we could outrun them? wtf are you smoking? Not to mention the whole 118 and 125ish mph speed limiter on the lx/dx and ex respectively. I would love to see you try.

I live up here in Canada, and i work for Ford Motor Company, and at the plant where i work we build the Crown Victorias. They run mid to high 15s in the quarter mile. They aren't that fast, the Maurader's that we build, those are fast! Their take offs are awesome, but high speed chases they run out of steam...

quick or not those pig mobiles are stable as hell when it comes to high pursuits. they got a huge engine so they can keep going and will keep up with any daily driver car out there.

Possibly, but I know the fastest non turbo'd EX's have only gone 125 or so. I seem to recall them being either governed, or drag limited around that speed.

Suffice to say you arent going over 130 in an EX.

I dont think police cruisers are super fast or anything. They are just build to take a beating and still run. Besides...why would they need to keep up in a car when they have radios and choppers
