2001 civics?

I've heard that the 2001 civics arent really reliable is that true?? because it was the first year where they made all those changes and ppl said that there were lotz of problems any 2001 civic owners here to confirm that?

No problems, here. Just basic maintenance. Tires, brakes, oil. I'm already up to 75,000 miles. Its still works great.

any new car model has its probleem the first year.. its better than any other car in its class.. the only problems i ever had was my tranny broke down there times.. but i drive lie a mother****er.. and i got a extended warrrenty also . so you'll be fine... its a great car.. and do all the maintenance. I think thats the key

I love my 01. Like Quijano187 said there were some tranny problems if you drove it hard, but the dealership fixed it with no probs. I think that was the only major prob I have ever had. I am up to 45,000 hard miles and 90% is city driving. Just do the regular maint. and you will be very happy

it's not like the 01 are bad...

it's just that because it's the first line of 7th gen civic, there tends to be more "failure" product out from the factory line.....

however, if ur lucky, u will get a good and perfect 01 civic...while if ur not...then u get the bad one.....

No prob in transmission, just enjoyable driving. I had problems with my stock tires only. After replacing them, the roadhandle got better..

HAD a 2k2 Coupe... Tranny problems plus LOTS of other annoying probs (rattle, bad paint job, etc.) which were fixable... Got rid of it after owning it for a year and a half...

IMO, the 5th gens are my fave Civics.
