i need your help..

currently, im planning to sell my old car to a private party....

so...can you guys help me of what i should do and prepare on the day of transaction?

do i need to type a letter so that in the future when something happen to the car, the buyer can't biatch around with me?

do i need to type a letter for my NY DMV after signing the "transfer" part on the back of the title?

this is the first time i ever sell a car to an unknown party.....usually i sell it to a family member or a friend.....that's why i don't want any trouble from the buyer's party...

any suggestion and opinions are highly appreciated....
help me ASAP =)

yo dont really have to do n e thing. but if you want id get a carbon copy of a lil agreement stating the car is sold AS IS!!

Definately draw up a bill of sale with both parties' info. I can send you my old one I used a while back. Just PM me.

Include the VIN and the fact that the car is sold AS-IS for $XXXX with both people's name and address on it. 2 copies, 1 for you and 1 for the buyer.
