But soon enough, my bro will have one installed in his old '86 4dr civic.

B16 in a 87 civic hatchback Si or does B18C sound better? For a car that weighs 2090 lbs both engines will make it scoot.

The Honda b16a engine first came out in 1989, I think, on a JDM Civic SiR... and it caught the attention of the automotive world. What was, and still is, remarkable about this engine is that it produces 100 HP per liter of engine capacity (160 HP from 1.6 L) ... which was unheard of in 1989, and is still quite remarkable today. It's an extremely smooth, high-revving, DOHC engine that redlines at 8000 rpm... and that's why everybody wants to drop one into their Civics. The 1999-2000 Si/SiR Civics still use this engine (a more recent version of it).

As for cost, I'm not too sure... maybe around $3000-$4000 US? Anybody know an accurate figure?
