Question 205GTI over civic??

Anyone had a 205GTI? how was the experience? I'm serously thinking of trading in my civic for that car. I drove a 87 model 2 months ago & it was pretty cool i thought, apart from the crappy dash plastics. I know its prob not a very 'true' comparison, but is it worth giving up the civic?

Why on earth you would want that POS over a NEW Civic is beyond me... Unless you're into hardcore rallying and plan on fully building that into a rally monster, the answer should be pretty obvious (as in a big fat NO!).

If you don't care about road noise, engine noise and chep interior, then that car is for you.
Truth is that a 10 year old Peugeot 205 GTI will have a brand new 7th gen civic SI as a breakfast anytime. That car comes with a 1.9 liter engine DOHC and 130 HP from factory with 300lbs less that a civic. I've been driving one in europe back in 1998 and that car can pull...and it was 8 years old then.

Its a European Car, Mate save up your money and get a oldish Civic. If you are going for the Peugeot, make it s 206GTI. Not the 205.

I saw a lot of 205s when I was in Europe, good lil cars. I also saw a lot of Punto GTs and though I didn't get a chance to ride in one, apparantly they've got some pep.

Seems that the rest of the cars there are in love with the 1.4L engine, they're lightyears ahead of us on emissions control.

Here you go. Peugeot's are French cars, and are pretty good cars for the enthusiast. If you want a no nonsense daily driver, I wouldn't buy it, but it looks like a great weekend track car.
