Should I ????????????

Hey all, I'm new of course and I would like some advice. I have a 99 4cyl Jeep Wrangler and its killing me on gas. I am interested in trading it in on a 01 4door Civic LX. Its green and stock. Its got 33000 miles on it. The dealer wants 9997 dollars for it. Now I have always thought Civics were female cars. But gas here is 1.75 a gallon and I know Civics sip gas. I have no intention of racing it or moding it to the extreme. Maybe drop a CD player, wheels and tint. My questions are 1. is it a good deal, 2. would I be stupid for getting rid of my Jeep, 3. would a 30year old football coach look right driving such a small car? SOrry this is soooo long and if I am asking dumb questions. FLAME ON

I'm not the biggest fan of green, but I say go for it. Civic's do sip gas, esp. compared to a SUV. If your're thinking about or if your wallet is feeling the pinch, then you should buy it.

So far, 1.Yes and 2. No.

for number 3, I've seen a family of height inclined people come out of an H2 (tallest was probably less than four feet), so I don't think it would be weird for anything else to come out of a car. The small light-weight body of a Civic is what gives it the great gas-mileage that it gets, that and the way the engine was designed... If you don't find the Civic comfortable or you think you're too large for it, you could always get a used Accord.

i always thought camrys were girl cars. but when i was in high school i had this big black football coach that drove a green camry.he was like 6 foot 4 and 250. nobody ever made fun of him driving that car. so i say go for it who cares if anyone thinks it's a girls car you'll love the gas that you save.

Exactly what dirk said.... who cares what people think. Going economy may be the way with all the rising gas prices although I dont feel $1.75 is a lot to pay considering the peope in California and here in NY its $1.89. But not many people regret getting a Civic... especially if used for it's actual purpose, save gas, reliable, point A to point B driving, help environment, etc. If those are what you need, Civic may be your answer... but then again you are on a Civic site.

Civics are great cars, and the price seems decent, just because it has only a few miles. I say go for it. The only thing that sucks about 4drs is that you see them everywhere.

yup! Civics are everywhere, so part are easier to find/replace. If a car is sold in mass quantities, what does that tell you?

I just wanted to say too stear the theory of a girls car out of your mind, the Civic's main competition in sedan form is the Corolla, which has a softer ride. Civics have always had better handling characteristics than Corolla's.

If you don't trust me, read my sig. We've never had any problems with either of them.

aight man 1st of all civic's are not a girls car....the corolla is def. a little softer, but i mean reaslistically the VW bug, jetta 2.0, and the cabriole (sp?) are by far the girliest cars on the market.

The gas is great and the car looks awesome with some rims and tires.....TINT is a must......the car will look like a grandma ride without it (imo). Also very easy to work on...you can teach urself anything about the car.....unlike some other cars.

just get it, the investment now might be a little more than what you want to pay, but you're not going to get a car with the combo of a great gas consumption, reliability and resale value. Don't worry about anyone thinking you're dumb for buying a civic. Many of the most educated professionals that I know drive Civics because of their reliability and resale value.

If you're only 30, it shouldn't really matter. Esp if you're mature enough to not care what others think. You are not the only 30 sumthing we have here. I myself am 31 (car in sig) and the site owner himself is also in his 30's..
That price is definitely a steal, be sure to get a car fax on it and the gas comsumption is ideal.
An 01 with 33K on it, definitely calls for carfax IMO..

Lose the Jeep and Welcome to 7thgencivic.com!!

DUDE

THAT'S A PRETTY BAD PRICE!

hm.... $9997? --> $10K

the price in my dealers around me....normally..

'02 4DOOR EX with 17000 Miles --> $11.900 (i think u can kick this one up till $11K)

u should get something <<36.000 miles....like 20-25K miles..

u just don't know what's gonna happen to ur used car.....like mine..

don't take the risk...i know, it's a honda....but u need the warranty, man...
