The best thing I learned when shifting, there should be an instant pitch change in engine noise while changing gears instead of the usual deceleration noise (gassing it w/o the clutch fully engaged) Good stuff!

His heel-toe technique that he describes is only if the pedals are close enough together. I prefer kicking down with my heel which he tells you not to. I cant rock my foot onto the gas without getting the feeling that my foot isnt firmly on the brake. I suppose its all a matter of how the pedal box is designed. I dont see anything wrong with kicking down with the heel as long as it all results in a fluid downshift.

good stuff. too bad i can't do an aggressive style launch on my crappy 440 treadwear tires... no traction! heel-toe style is hard on cars that don't have pedals that are even with eachother...
