Why do people love the "Hyper Blinker"

Why do people love the "Hyper Blinker" I've always been curious. I mean, do they want to pretend they have some sort of Emergency vehicle of some kind, or do they like giving other drivers seizures. I just don't see the allure of having your light blink 2 to 3 times faster than normal. Anybody want to shed some light on this for me...

Rep Power: 343 I dunno when I had red LEDs in my turn signals, it'd hyperblink because my car would think the bulbs were out. I had that in for quite a while. Then when I went back to stock, it seemed slow as hell and I was like how the heck are people going to see my intended lane switches (weaving) in time, if my blinker is so damned sluggish?

Rep Power: 583 i dont think theres anything wrong with them...i annoyed my passengers tho when i had LED bulbs tho. i dont know what the big deal is.
theyre actually safer i think, since they blink faster they kind of catch the eye more...i mean it stands out, plus i guess if a driver switches lanes fast its better cause the bulb can blink more times in the time before it shuts off. so a normal bulb might blink once, which people might miss, but a hyper blinker might blink 2-3 times...
i never tryed to pretend i was an emergency vehicle, i didnt see what the big deal was.

Rep Power: 0 i don't mind cars with them, but i see peole getting pissed when its a LED that is like a strobe light at night.
The saftey thing makes sense, even if the other drivers aren't going to be able to react very fast.

Rep Power: 0 Yeah the purpose is weaving in and out of traffic. If you are driving safely stock blinkers are more than enough to change lanes or turn without danger. If you are switching lanes to fast you need 5 blinks in 1 second, then chances are you arent being all that safe and smart. My car isnt fast, but with these hyperblinkers and my mad weaving skillz, ill look like im fast y0!

Yeah the purpose is weaving in and out of traffic. If you are driving safely stock blinkers are more than enough to change lanes or turn without danger. If you are switching lanes to fast you need 5 blinks in 1 second, then chances are you arent being all that safe and smart. Only reason a turn signal should ever "hyper blink" is to remind you that you have a burnt bulb that needs to be replaced!!!
I made my signals "hyper blink" (2x) because I wanted to prove to my friend that I could do it with a $.50 resistor from Radio Shack.
I really wish I could change it back, but I don't have a soldering(sp?) gun to do it with =(
I never signal because I hate the blinking lights and the constant clicking in my dash. I only signal when I really have to.

Rep Power: 332 I hate hyperblinkers and even though they are annoying as hell, I would rather someone use them to signal a lane change rather than not use a blinker at all. The stupid people down here where I live don't use blinkers half the time, and I've almost had several mishaps because of it. When I see someone not use a blinker, no matter what the reason, it makes me want to shoot them.

its like saying car companies allow cars to go to 100mph cause they expect us to speed .
but they dont put faster blinkers on our cars cause they want us to change lanes slower while doin 100+
i have my own 2 dollar installed hyper blinker set on an adjustable ****(pyrometer) or whatever its called... i can adjust my blinker speed to whatever i choose...
i turn them up high when im on the highway doing over 100 changing lanes... my blinker will blink 5 times before i switch the lanel.
this helps get people the **** out of my way cause they can actually see my blinker before i go.

Rep Power: 511 i used to have LED bulbs for my parking/turn signals int he front and that made me have hyper blinkers and i hated it. it got really annoying, so i took them out after a month

Rep Power: 0 I hate hyperblinkers. It looks like one of your bulbs is burnt out. And LED bulbs are gay as hell. I can never see those. I've never seen LED bulbs that were brighter than regular bulbs since none of them shine any light on the lense in order to amplify the light.
And just because your blinkers blink faster doesn't mean you can switch lanes faster, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Rep Power: 583 whats with all the hating? fraga asked why people get them, those who got them answered...what is the big deal. to each his/her own. you dont like them, dont put them on...but just because someone likes them doesnt mean its rice. they do have a function, and they do perform that function...wheather its intended or not...so how is that rice?

and ^^^...no one said you switch lanes faster because of hyperblinkers, we said that it makes it easier to change lanes when youre going faster because people notice your blinker more if its blinking at a faster rate.
