KN&N AirFilter: How much can u get?
KN&N AirFilter: How much can u get?
Ok, in this post, i wanna talk about the effect of your KN&N air filter Vs. the CAI
I've talked to some guys in the different thread...apparently closed now..
so, i got the info that using the KN&N air filter with your stock box u'll get:
2-4% more horsepower...that supposely around 3 to 5 Horse Power from your 127HP EX.
3 to 5 horsepower....so, i average that u'r gonna get 4 horsepower by using KN&N air filter...only....
OK,
one guy said to multiply 5 HP by 18% from drive train something...
now, r u gonna say that:
5 * 18% --> 0.9, then u got 5.9 HP?
OR 4.1 HP?
(what i wanna ask, 18% of loss or gain?)
another guy said, using using KN&N air filter, u'll get 30whp?
erh.....is that air filter or CAI? what is whp?
ok, another thing....there's one person said,
buying the CAI without using nitrous or some sort is wasting money,
now, i think i agree with this opinion.....cos' it's 5 times more expensive...
opinion? opinion?

huwahahahah
im, what is fipk?
i was talking about the normal air filter replacement for the stock filter box....KN&N 30-3192
or some sort...i forgot...
hahaha, damn u man.... i was thinking, what??
anyway, what is whp? i've been searching for the definition..
what is the different with hp?
edit:: wait wait...u said 1 or 2 whp?
whadday mean? u'll definitely get 3 to 5 hp with the replacement air filter..
that filter is $36, i think it's worthed....in saying that u get better air flow without any hazzle..
now, using CAI without any modification seems to be useless....am i right?

whp = wheel horse power
manufactuers measure horsepower at the crank which is a higher number so u belive that there is more hp than there actually is. By the time the power gets from the crank to the wheels, u lose hp b/c of the wheels, a/c, p/s and other power robbing things.
Manufactures measure hp at the crank on a engine dyno in which the engine sits on a stand and isn't in the car.
whp is measured on a chassis dyno where the car is sitting on the rotating drums.

I'm locking this because it has been covered many times. Search the site, you will find info. The K&N drop in filter will give you maybe 1-2 HP at most, you will NOT feel a thing. Save your money. CAI 3-4 HP, again, you won't feel it. K&N FIPK will get you 4-5 HP again, not felt.
P.S. it's K&N not KN&N
