2006 Mazda RX-7: If the RX-8 is the success Mazda is banking on, a two-door RX-7 may follow for 2006. On the drawing board is a shortened, lighter car boasting 280-330 hp.
2006 Nissan Skyline GT-R: The next-generation super sports car may make it to our shores --through official channels.
for one, mazda already has the rx8 which is doing great, if anything they would upgrade that before coming out with a completely redesigned rx7
and two, nissan already has the 350z/g35 and they would also upgrade those before bringing a skyline to the US. so i highly doubth this would happen too.

Also, the G35 Coupe, in Japan, IS called the Skyline. The Skyline GT350, to be exact. Nissan WILL be unveiling a new Skyline, but it will not be a direct competitor with the G35, 350Z, etc. It'll be called the Skyline GT-R (R35). It will have a LOT more power than the 350Z or G35. Speculation, so far, is that it will most likely be released world-wide.

The GT-R according to Nissan, is coming, isn't gonna share much with the G35 besides the frame, the whole thing is ground up, and the current spectulation is that its the 3.2L TT V6 in the JGTC car and . I'm expecting a marvel that far exceeds everyones expectations.

The platform thing, each car has a platform that bases off around other platforms. LIke the X Platform could be in car X, SUV Y, and in another car Z. Those cars are all different but they share the same platform.
The Mustang had the same platform for around 25-30 years and the new ones are the first updates.
