I like the part about, "2006 Honda Civic: New generation on current platform." I don't know what it means, but it sounds tasty.

i highly doubt this:

2006 Mazda RX-7: If the RX-8 is the success Mazda is banking on, a two-door RX-7 may follow for 2006. On the drawing board is a shortened, lighter car boasting 280-330 hp.

2006 Nissan Skyline GT-R: The next-generation super sports car may make it to our shores --through official channels.

for one, mazda already has the rx8 which is doing great, if anything they would upgrade that before coming out with a completely redesigned rx7

and two, nissan already has the 350z/g35 and they would also upgrade those before bringing a skyline to the US. so i highly doubth this would happen too.

RSX redesign? Curious to see that.

Admit, though, that bringing the Skyline to the US would rule

I can't remember where, but I have already read a quote in which Mazda clearly states that if the RX-8 does well then they will be bringing out a new-version RX-7. Rumours have it, so far, that it will have a widened 1.5L rotary, with the expected 280-300+ HP.

Also, the G35 Coupe, in Japan, IS called the Skyline. The Skyline GT350, to be exact. Nissan WILL be unveiling a new Skyline, but it will not be a direct competitor with the G35, 350Z, etc. It'll be called the Skyline GT-R (R35). It will have a LOT more power than the 350Z or G35. Speculation, so far, is that it will most likely be released world-wide.

^Yes, I was told that by a nissan rep at the motor trend show. He said the skyline r35 would be in the US in 2006, but it would have quite as much power as the JDM version.

It will probably be kinda like the 5th gen civic into the 6th gen. Where the parts are very similar but the looks are a little different.

same slow civic with a new look. Will they dare bump the engine to 1.8L SOHC? Only time will tell...

even if they do bring the skyline to US it wont matter, jdm body or not, that new r35 will never compare to the GT-R 34!!!

I think I'm going to have to disagree with that. The new Skyline GT-R R35 is not going to be your normal car, like the R34. Nissan has stated that it's going to be along the lines of many of today's *super*cars. Such as, it will be extremely powerful in stock form, and probably won't weigh nearly as much as the R34, either. If you think about it, all they would really have to do is up the displacement of the R34's engine, slap on a newly improved ATESSA AWD system, some chassis refinements, and the new body, and you're set. But, of course, knowing Nissan, they'll probably completely re-work everything, from the ground up. It'll be one heck of a car, that's for sure.

The door has already been closed on this. Mazda said no about 3 months ago. Of course, that doesn't rule out a more powerful RX8.

The GT-R according to Nissan, is coming, isn't gonna share much with the G35 besides the frame, the whole thing is ground up, and the current spectulation is that its the 3.2L TT V6 in the JGTC car and . I'm expecting a marvel that far exceeds everyones expectations.

if they redesign the rsx what they should do is switch back to the integra name. i bet it would sell much better than what it already is.

I don't know about this one. The WRX Sti and EVO "own" the sport compacts. The SRT-4 is just cheap as hell.

^wrx isnt a sport compact..
it fits the rally mid size sports car class.
technically it is just rally class! Americans are lame and stupid so you think its something new to Sport compact. Hate to break the news bud but STI evo all of them been out long before the sport compact class was concieved

The platform thing, each car has a platform that bases off around other platforms. LIke the X Platform could be in car X, SUV Y, and in another car Z. Those cars are all different but they share the same platform.

The Mustang had the same platform for around 25-30 years and the new ones are the first updates.
