i don't think having any tint will have any affect on your antenna/reception. but as far as tint turning purple.... it's because the tint is cheap and you used cleaner with ammonia.

The cheap, low quality tints fade and turn purple in time. Just ask the place you're getting your tint at. They'll tell you which tint will fade or not since there are different types.

^ Damn, really? Well, the place I went to has a really good reputation. I've had my tint done there for my previous cars. And I guess knowing some of the people that work there helps too.

Even metallic tint will fade. But it wont be as noticeable. And it takes longer. Biggest plus side, is that it wont bubble up easily like many cheap tints.

Cool New Civic in need of window tint

I just picked up a 04' Civic lx sedan, and I am in some serious need of some window tint. I haven't gotten a car tinted before and I was wondering what you guy’s would recommend? As far as tint goes (Brand) and the process that they use to apply the tint. (Baked on, or sticky film)

Thanks for the advice

3M makes good tint. Most places use "sticky film," the baked on stuff costs more and requres the removel of the windows.

Got 15% charcol professionally installed all around for $200. The best mod I ever had done for me hands down, I would never do it myself after seeing the equipment and programs the guys who did my tint had. The quality shows and I always get compliments on it. So in closing, don't try to half-*** car tinting.
