Didn't the specs say only 250 hp? Isn't the Evo 8 making 278 out of a smaller engine? That engine is barely outperforming the S2000...But Honda underestimated the latest Accord V6's output by a sizeable number when they introduced it, so we can hope they did the same for their turbo K Series and are just being modest. I hope Honda will finally build a turbocharged engine!!

Speaking of import v8's, the next Supra might have a 4L'ish DOHC small-block V8 w/vvti instead of a straight 6 like the Mk IV. IMO, I would like to see a v8 as an OPTION, but a six as the base engine for affordability and a V8 to silence the domestic biased. Sorry if I'm being a thread terrorist...
I'm gonna have to throw my .02 in on this one. As long as I've owned Hondas (7 years) I've always known Honda to be opposed to turbo applications in their cars. Mainly because it does not coincide with the company's current image of simple, easy, reliable, LOW MAINTENANCE cars. Typically, factory turbo charged cars usually make more trips to the service department then Honda wants to pay for out of their warranty accounts.
Honda has always prided themselves in their high flowing heads, and stout engines. Yes they can handle boost, but Honda has always used a higher compression NA setup, utilizing the VTEC valvetrain. This technology was actually inspired (believe it or not) by the HEMI engines of the 60's and 70's. They utilized hemispherical pistons to raise compression ratios and get more power out of less.
Sorry to have gone a little off topic, but honestly I think we're more likely to see an AWD V6 TSX/Accord/Inspire derivative than we are to see a turbo model from Honda. The only turbo application I've ever seen from Honda was on their F1 race car.

Honda's have built Turbo engines before and they do now. In japan The Dunk has a turbo 3 cylinder (I think). And also they just came out with a Accord turbo Diesel in Europe. Turbo really isn't anything new to Honda just new to Honda US.

Heres my 2 cents, times change and markets change too
4 years ago was there a market for AWD turbocharged 4 cylinder high performance sedans in the US???
11 years ago do you think honda saw any reason to produce an SUV or minivan? Much less a truck?
This could just be a new market Honda plans on venturing into, besides nowdays saying you make a small, great MPG, reliable car doesn't make you stand out as much as it used to.

well, judging by the hp produced... 250hp.. its most definatly running low boost.. probablly like 4-8psi
and figure that that k22 is probablly using a k20a2 head so it is pumping about 200-220hp NA... so 250 isnt too much boost.. at least thats how im figuring it, also, if it runs at low boost, it shouldnt have a problem being reliable since the turbo probablly isnt gonna be stressed at all

I think its a fake article, Why would the car have a factory hood scopp , yet no intercoller under it????????? Actually I didn't see a inter cooler on the car period, and I don't think they would put a pointless scoop on the hood. Also, The wrighting on the engine doesn't look anywhere near the font Honda usually uses on it's engine.

2) Where is it written that Honda has to use the same font on all its engines? Oh, prolly same place where it says Honda can't make a turbo'd car.
