MDX or Durango. I say that because you didn't mention off-roading but they could handle stuff like snow and mud. The MDX is a great upscale vehicle and the thing is rock solid with a great engine. I like it. The Durango has an optional Hemi... What can I say? It's a HEMI!!! The materials look better than other/older models.

From the choices you listed, Sadboy. . . definitely the MDX. Espeically given its primary purpose: MOVING PEOPLE
You won't find better comfort or sophistication, even with the Navigator.
Others to consider in this class (that I would recommend):
Toyota Sequoia
Toyota 4Runner Limited
(What can I say? Toyota makes some killer trucks, always have)
I'm a little curious as to the absence of wagons. For real estate (carrying clients, etc) a nice wagon is a great impression, and doesn't have to be boring. A Volvo would be so cliche to the average person, but they're amazing cars, nonetheless.
Also, check out the new Legacy wagons. They are totally gorgeous, powerful, very roomy, and priced LESS than any of the utes you listed. Since whatever vehicle your father buys will never see any more than a gravel road once in a while, and you mentioned nothing of towing a trailer, I'd say how could he go wrong with an AWD wagon? (At least check them out, it's VERY worth your and his time)
They won't be released until May I believe, but if he finds them at all interesting, then I'm sure he'd wait a few months.
And if your father is one of those guys who MUST have an SUV and thinks wagons of any kind are gay. . . . well, then I can't help you, partner.
To sum up:
From your list. . . . MDX (same size as a Tahoe, just about 8 inches less cargo space)
Not on your list. . . . Sequoia or 4Runner Limited
Alternatives. . . . Volvo or Legacy wagons (At least the Legacy is AWD)
Good luck to you and your father.

The new Durango is probably the ugliest SUV I've ever seen... The Explorer is nice, but be sure to get the extended warranty, they break down pretty often...
You should check out the Toyota Highlander. A friend of mine got one and I like more everytime I get in it. It's very roomy, nice smooth ride, looks good, and a very easy setup in the console.

If you're an educated consumer, you'll choose the Acura MDX (or the Honda Pilot). Both of those were top choices by Consumer Reports. I've also been shopping. The unsurpassed quality and reliability of Japanese vehicles cannot be beat. I'll never buy an american vehicle again.
