Rx-8
Rx-8
I was driving down the road today and I saw it in my rear view mirror, I had to slow down so he would pass me.. that thing was sweet.. It looked awesome.. Another car to add to my dream list..
I HATE THEM PERSONALLY. y'all can have your own opinions but it just isnt workin for me. 4 door-what the hell happened there? rotary engine(in a perfect world they would be the best- but so would communism) all the stress goes through like 7 moving parts and the engines tend to die. When rotaries 1st came out they would break down after about 20000 miles. I wouldn't trust a rotoray-especialy not from Ford. Also they claim it has much higher horespower than it does. It could still take a civic, but personally there are better cars for the money.

Ok first off Ford does not persay own Mazda. They own like 52 percent of Mazda USA. Not Mazda Japan. Yes the hp was overrated by 11 hp, but none the less if you drive one of these cars they are amazing. It is true that rotaries have a bad reputation but if you talk to any rotary owner that actually knows the engine the 20000 mile mark someone spoke of is retarded. The reason these engine give out is because they handle lean conditions even worse then piston engines which cause Apex seals to give.
There are plenty of N/A mid 80's rotaries that have upwards of 200000 miles on them and haven't had problems. The original motor in my 93 gave at 100k and that's mainly due to how it was driven by the previous owner and maintained.
The 8 is an absolute dream handling wise. Driving the same roads in an 8 as I did in my 7 I felt more comfortable with it's handling while my 7's suspension was still stock. I don't know where anyone got 40 grande from but the one I plan on buying has everything except navigation and was around 33,500. No it's not a straight line monster but it never was meant to be.
Besides if this car is such a POS why is it constantly rated higher than the other cars in it's class IE..... 350z, s2000. They are having some issues with coolant leaks and such but it's a brand new motor in a brand new car there are bound to be problems.
Plans are already in a mix for a Mazdaspeed version with supercharger or turbo which is still undetermined.
Yes aftermarket isn't huge yet but the car is 6 months old. There are companies that are reaching completion of turbo kits that they are seeing 350 hp with moderate tuning.
One last note the reason for the 11 hp cut was due to emissions in the US there's a guy selling a piggy back system for the car already that with his tuning has given some people 20-25hp and another 10-15 ft lb of torque just by retuning and advancing timing with no other modifications.
Just thought I'd enlighten sorry if you got bored reading my book.

A couple grand, maybe, but 25? That's retarded.
I don't care how much you put into your POS civic it's never going to be better than an RX8. Retard. It'll still be a POS civic. Put 25 grand into an RX8 and see what you come up with moron.
I swear the overall IQ and common sense of this board continues to drop.
By the way quickslvr Mazda USA and Mazda Japan are jointly shared by stock holders, of which Ford Motors owns 33%, which makes them the controlling share holder by Japanese laws. However as stated before, Ford has declared that Mazda will continue to operate independently from Ford, but Ford will borrow Mazda engineering, and will offer any support to Mazda, Hence the Mazda 3 borrowing heavily from the Focus. Ford also owns large shares in Jaguar, and Aston Martin with the same philosophy by the way.
