what is up with those stupid V8 conversions into civics and 240's it is ridiculous. I dont see why anyone would bother to put a small block chevy into a civic when they can turbo charge it and get the same results.

You can turbo a 4 banger, and get the same result as a V8, or u can get a V8, turbo that and get the same result as 2 turboed 4banger

To start off, I have never seen a Civic with a V8. I've seen a Miata with a V8, a Golf with one, etc. But that's not the point. A lot of Civics and 240s and cars like that have absolutely no torque, and if you're going to drag race, you want torque.
Many cars are fast, but very few are quick. A top speed of 150mph is fast, a 0-60 time of 4.9seconds is quick. Also, some people want a car that would be a powerful daily driver. What good is a turbo if you're in its power range like 5% of the time you're driving?
Granted, a small block Chevy wouldn't be my import swap choice - I'd probably go with the import equivalent to a V8 (a V6) - but who cares what they do to get fast?
I think a V8 swap is a more legit way to get quick than nitrous oxide or anything like that.

how would you even get a small block chevy to fit into a civic? that motor is built for RWD and the civic is FWD. you would have to put the motor sideways or something to get it to work.

well, i was doing some searches on google to see if i could actually find some pictures of civics with v8, but i could not find any. although, i did find some chops someone did of what an 02 civic si v8 might look like. none of them show the engine, but they are kinda different, so i thought i would share them.
