Honda SUT Truck Set To Debut 2004 @ North American International Auto Show
Torrance, Calif. 12/11/2003 -- American Honda today released a sketch of the Honda SUT Concept vehicle, scheduled to make its worldwide debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 4, 2004. This new and innovative truck concept will provide the world with its first glimpse of the direction Honda will take with a future production sport-utility truck model.
The Honda SUT Concept is a next-generation truck concept designed to meet the changing tastes of consumers purchasing trucks to accommodate their active, outdoor-oriented lifestyles. Taking advantage of its unibody underpinnings, the Honda SUT Concept combines the utility of an open cargo bed with the interior space and functionality of an SUV and adds traditional Honda strengths including superior ergonomics, innovative packaging, fun-to-drive character and legendary durability, quality and reliability.
In keeping with Honda's commitment to environmental and safety leadership, the Honda SUT Concept also sets a new standard for fuel efficiency, low emissions and safety performance in the light-duty truck segment.
Additional details of the concept and Honda's future production plans will be provided at the vehicle's unveiling next month in Detroit.
looks like its acutally going to happen. Honda has really been making some advances...

actually it is based off the next generation avalanche. Remember a few years back when gm and honda signed a contract together. Remember them saying that eventualy Saturn would have honda engines. Well this was also a part of the contract if I am not mistaken.
It looks just like the Chevy Avalanche, and it probably mostly is. A few years back Honda and GM made engine deals. Honda gave GM a version of their V6 and a tranny which is or was being used in the Saturn Vue SUV, Honda got GM's 5.4 V8 and a few diesel motors. Honda hasn't used them for a while because they thought GM's V8 needed a little bit of "tweaking".
Well unless it has a V8 it will not appeal to most americans. Unless of course you live in the honda bubble and defend it by saying that the truck will have potential with mods and is reliable ect..ect...

i'd get a nissan truck (the titan), that thing has power and is large, i think it can hold its weight around some american trucks.
if i'm not mistaken, i think the SUT uses the 240hp V6 thats in the MDX right now, and i think its going to be "tweaked" a little.
but i dont like the looks, just like i hate the EXT and avalanche, to me, those aren't real trucks (who the hell spends $55k on an EXT to haul stuff around?)
