on a serious note...

your complaint about a 4cyl not needing a 6 speed might quite possibly be the single most stupid thing i've EVER read before in my life.

you do realize when they add a gear they shorten the ratio's for better acceleration right?

You give Bavarian Motorworks a bad bad bad name.

^^wow, some one actually knows what BMW stands for.....^^^^

As far as the argument between the Sti and the EVO 8..... So far the Sti is out classed, and I'm talking about in the stock classes for SCCA autocross (both are A-Stock). The Sti just seems to be lacking something the Evo 8 has in the handling department. But then Both get their collective buts kicked by the corvettes there any way........

Regarding turning radious..... Once again its a matter of Veichle design not Drivetrain lay out. Yes the TSX has a wider turning radius then a 3 series, but then the Cooper S has a smaller one..... whats your point?

WHo cares? Acura is a higher end, but it's no luxury brand?! If you lump it in with Mercedes, BMW, and Infiniti you"re just showing you"re ignorance

Its like the people who tell civic owners that their corvette is faster. NO KIDDING!

evan, even when you picked apart his post you said nothing useful. you just attacked him cause your a honda bitch. captain, your just a 4 year old.

I personally dont think gears should be decided on horsepower, though i may ask why if the stuck one in a 127hp civic.

And i believe he is right about the nsx. sure its a nice car, but not 90k nice.

Naw, the NSX is deserving of its price to some extent....the handling on that things is godly and it is super light. Not to mention it looks amazing. Just because one company makes a car that is not marketed toward everyones budget does not mean that it should be constantly torn apart, If you cannot afford it or do not like it for its price, don't buy it....there are still plenty of people out there who will. The topic of i-4s and honda has been beaton to death. main points as to why it is more economical would be as follows:

1. Cheaper to produce
2. More fuel efficient
3. More stable (less to go wrong)
4. Lighter
5. That is what they are used to

Not all acuras are designed as race cars ....people HAVE to get that through their head! not every car is designed with the intent to race it. My little civic handles amazingly for what it cost me. They do the job, very well might i add, for the price paid. Acuras add luxury, a littler performance. The main thing we are looking here is the target comsumer and dependability. The vast majority of soccer moms and businessmen do not want a race car.

As per the 6-speed S2000...80mph in 6th gear is almost 4500 rpm. In my new Civic auto 80mph is only 3000rpm (in 4th gear).

yep, 6 speed would actually help with acceleration in a 4cyl more than an 8.. the power band of a 4cyl is much shorter than that of an 8, so a 6 speed will help stay in that power band.
