its fine as long as u dont keep shifting it into N, and then into 2 when slowing down, that puts more wear on the tarnny.
I drive me auto like an old man, becase i am a lazy person, i choose an auto, although i do keep my hand on the gear at all times.

My friend puts his car into N while approaching a stop light, then pulls up the ebrake and full stop. After, he puts it back into D and drops the ebrake when the light turns green. Is that okay?

damm that seems like alot of work there but does he hit the gas then release the E brake? if he pulls up the ebrake at a stop then releases it then hits the gas that should be fine! but about putting it in neutral when still driving hmmm never hurt my car!
i think its really bad, i did the samethings that your guys are doing when i was high school. that tranny blew it was a 97 mazda 626 it just sitting in the drive way since jr year. i learn from my mistakes now i really dont even bother to mess with it unless i need to reverse or to drive.
I do the same thing you are talking about I_Own_a_Civic. I think its actually a decent way to get some fast acceleration in our cars, but not have it rev up to high (waste of gas). I never neutral drop it though. I've heard horror stories about that. My friend neutral dropped his beater wagon at 6000rpms and his rear axle snapped in half!!!
i like to sit at lights at night and hit my brake, note i have a stick shift, and then when i come to a stop, when its a flat surface, i love to leave it in neutral and no brake and see the people behind me be like, huh, thinking im creeping up when im really not cuz most people just hold the brake at lights. I also like to follow people really close cuz i tailgate and when they brake i just put it into neutral and it slows itself and the people behind me are like, uhh, and they slam on there brakes, lol. i like to drive the people nuts behind me.

lol . .I dunno if it's bad. . I don't think so as long as you do it right and not let it redline. . Might cause some premature wear, but nothing huge.
I used to do it in my Oldmobile, ya know where the stick is by the steering wheel? LOL 1st gear brought the handle down to my knee, it was funny.

Does anybody remember the early generation Honda Civics with the HONDAMATIC transmissions? They were 2-speed and 3-speed SEMI-automatics without a clutch. You started in 1st and worked your way up to 2 or to "OD"! I remember I had those trannys on my 1981 and 1982 Civic Hatches.
I think that people who had a manual before usually do that.

haha i do all the things u guys do to..i dunno what it does to the tranny i usally shift it from D to D1 and up too..feels like the car is faster at the higher rpms in like D1 u saty at like 5000 and then slam on the gas and it feel like some good pik up for a slow car haha
you guys really shouldnt do that, it puts alot of premature wear on your tranny, yea u might have a warrenty one the car right now so F it right, but just think when ur warrenty is up and you are stranded somewhere and now u have to drop a $1,000 on a new tranny what are you gona do then, not a good idea. if you want to go play racer, trade your auto in please, an automatic transmission is made to automatically shift not have someone else shift it.
