So is the 2004 Civic the 8th Gen?
Since the front end has been redesigned along with the tails a little bit, would it be considered a new generation or still a 7th gen since it holds the same body shape and engine.

i dont belive so. if my memory serves me correct ( i might be mistaken) every new gen of civic changes its engine, or some aspect of it. thats why theres like 3 different d16's. but i dunno, i might be wrong.. dont flame if i am..

It's not gonna be a new aftermarket, they share the same chassis base and engine as the 01-03 civics. The tranny, engine, chassis, and suspension are the same as 03. New headlights and updated tails hardly warrant a generation change. When the chassis code changes then it would be a new generation. I think in 05 we might see a new generation of civics. Hopefully with better motors than a D series.
actaully, on the street the 2004 civic looks very very similar to civic 01-03...
if you are not a owner of civic or not a fan of it, you probably won't even see the difference betwee them.
I kind of asked 10 people I know about it. 8/10 of them can't see the difference although for me the difference is big.
