Where did you get your ipass?
Where'd you get it, how much was it, and how does the account thing work?
They have them at Jewel here. He said it's $50, which gives you $10 in credit and $40 into your account, whatever that means. Is this a good deal or not?
Thanks for explaining this.

I got mine directly from the IL Tollway Authority, but I heard they are trying to promote them at Jewel (as you've discovered). I think they mean it's a $10 deposit for the transponder and $40 into your I-pass account. When your account reaches $10 or less, it will charge another $40 to your credit card (or some other way?).
I-Pass rocks. I couldn't imagine driving the tollways without one now.

No tollways here. But when I worked in Kansas, they had K-tag. If I lived down there and drove on them all the time, that would be an awesome investment. I also drove through Chicago, and would get one down there too. Its a pain in the *** stopping, paying, and than going again. But than I also wonder why Illinois hasnt done the turnpike system like everyother state, where you pick up a ticket at the begining, and than just pay once at the end, instead of stopping all the time.

^ I heard they issue speeding tickets with that turnpike stuff. By seeing where you're coming from and the time you left and the time you arrived at your new place, they can calculate your average speed and if it's higher than the speed limit you get a ticket. Is that true?

we have EZPass on the east coast from MA to VA. After VA no tolls.... Ours is free if you sign up with a credit card and it automatically recharges when you go below $10.

i got my ipass from the the toll plaza on 88 when i was on my way to gurnee , and yes its a good deal . cause i paid 20 for my deposit and 40 in my account , and its soo pimp to just keep on driving , mine isnt coming outta my cc, I send them a check
We have something similar called PikePass here. I have never gotten one because i dont use the toll roads very often.
Plus i don't like the idea of them having my money, they are making serious bank on the interest of the total combined from everyone's passes Im better.
