M-Powa
im in the market for m3
ive looked around at www.bimmerfourms.com and ive come to conclusion that i either want a 95 or a 96+
the main advantage of the 95 is that it has the obdI as the comp which makes gaining hp alot easier with minor bolt ons.
disadvantage its a 95 and its almost impossible to find a clean one with low miles.
advantage for the 96+ is of course its way newer, has a digital thermostat, stability control thingy, low miles, easier to find
disadvantage it has the obdII which is like our lovely civics where minor mods dont do much to the hp, more expensive
i just want to know if anyone is a bimmer fans out there and has some insight on this.

E30!!!!! The only M3 that was designed as a race car first and then modified to be street legal.
The E36 is good though, but be warned..... Even though you can afford to purchace on and pay the insurance on it, you may not be able to pay for the mantinance...... Thats whats stoping me.

yeah i was thinking about that as well.
my dad owns a 740il and i cant even count how much money he poured into that car maintaining it.
but with the beauty and power of the m3 i think its worth it

I was always partial to the M "Breadwagon"... but they're kinda tough to find.
If I had to pick a 3, I'd pick the e30... just straight up no-frills fun.
I always thought German Car went hand in hand with expensive parts.... every marvel of German engineering I'm aware of costs lots of money to fix... I don't think its something thats specific to BMWs. You want it, you deal with it... thats just the way it works out.

I love BMW's style, but honestly from what I have seen/heard. They are not built like the way they look.
Especially a used BMW. I almost bought one last year, but ended up getting the Civic instead. Never had 1 problem yet at 36k miles. The BMW I was going to buy ended up being sold to my friends brother. He had so many problems with it he took it off the road. It just sits on the side of their house.
If you have money for repairs, then go for it. BMW's are also a status symbol in our society. I've driven around this girls BMW a few times. Such a smooth ride in her 2001. But her "warning" lights keep coming on to "check engine" and all sorts of other stupid dealer servicable problems. She's filthy rich though, and her daddy brings it to the dealership for her.
