Rep Power: 0 just have to ask for some reason why hate the SI?
Ok I am wondering why are there a good amount of 7th gen members that hate the SI? I have not been on this site for a while with my long days at work and college but with going to the 7th gen meet yesterday I have gotten back on and posting and I just see a good amount of hate twards the SI. I just have be dumb and ask why?

Rep Power: 0 alot of people dont like the looks of it so they hate the whole car. i like the looks once it is dropped and tint the windows it looks great i think. a little focus like but whatever. it has good potential being a kseries and all. seems like with some suspension upgrades it handles fairly well also. so i dunno, ppl just like to hate on the car as a whole because they dont like one thing about it. i like the looks, motor, interior. its different which is cool.

Rep Power: 0 I agree with the car need a drop bad. Mine is not done yet I have the springs but I would like to get shocks installed at the same time but no one makes them yet for the SI. I also want to get rims over winter too.

Rep Power: 789 I'm not a big fan of the stock SIs. Looks too high up and egg shaped. But I saw some at the meet yesterday that looked really nice. Modded SIs are sweet, but stock looks blah.

Rep Power: 0 i personally have no problem with the Si BESIDES seeing the wya people drive it. the Si is faster then the regular vics but still slow from what i heard and people still drive it like its a super perforamce car (where i live atleast). thats 1 of the things that kinda makes me dislike the new Si. but i agree, rims and a drop make it looks sooo much better

Rep Power: 341 The stock Si looks awful. If it's slammed and has rims, they look good. Most people made their decisions about it when they first saw pics of it or saw them on the lot. Like I said, they look bad stock, so people made their minds up based on that information. As people like Shawn Hillier come along and build flat out mind-blowing Sis, people will start changing their minds.
When I first saw the Si, I hated it. When I saw Hillier's Si, I was converted.

Rep Power: 487 i'm not feelin the big *** hatchy look.. i like the hatchy look of previous gens, rather, the curvy ones.. but i like the power and the interior.. but the shift **** would be too funky for me to get used to...

Rep Power: 311 I don't hate the Si. I just don't like the way it looks like some sort of rodent. Honda should have just stuck with its original trend of keeping the same look despite the different body style (coupe, sedan, and hatch)
Sure my DX pumps out only 65% of the hp that an Si makes. But if I was aiming for power more than just the looks and economy of a car, then I would have bought a WRX, Spec V, or an Evo (if I had the money)

Rep Power: 357 3 reasons personally,
1. looks, Dont like it. I like the rear, but the front is hidious.
2. weight. It weighs quite a bit for a hatch. My EX coupe is 150lbs lighter... Helps with cornering.
3. Even with the better engine, its marginally faster. It is faster but not enough to offset the the bad looks of it.

Rep Power: 311 by the way, members agree that the 7th gen Si really should have looked like this:
(Thanks to greg and pbfoot for the chops)
But noooooOoooo. Honda wanted to just make a completely new design for the Si altogether. stupid

Rep Power: 0 Wow those pics look great. I have to say that hatch looks sweet. Wish we had those headlights that way we would not have to hear "is that a focus?".

my guess is jealosy....stock SI can hand *** to most 7th gen civics. So u say its ugly or heavy to make urself feel better. Also an SI if u negotiate right can cost maybe 500-1000 more hten an EX otd. And if u own an SI just tell to urself that u got the top of the line model, and u can fit more **** in the trunk then them.
cuz in the end:
SI outhandles, outperforms, has better mod potential, and carries more groceries :P then the 7th gen civic.

Rep Power: 0 yeah a lot of people hate the new si. I personally dont care for the looks, but its ok i dont drive one.
I'm not going to talk trash jus cuz the next dude drives one. In either case although I think it is ugly I still respect it and it is still a nice car-just not for me
