I work at a BMW/mini dealer. I get to drive them all the time, they are very solid cars and I have not heard of any complaints. the automatic tranny is terrible on it though, it almost feels like a person who doesnt know how to drive a manual. but if youre still interested in a civic...My car on E-bay but yeah, the mini is a very nice car, honestly, and it is a very solid car also, there is no reason not to buy one.

If you can barely afford a Civic, why are you even looking at something made by a company that BMW owns?

BMWs are known for their high maintenance costs. A Civic is an economy car. . . a mini is not. What you think you can afford payment-wise will be overshadowed only by the money you're going to shell-out every year to keep the thing running.
