best gas

i've searched for this, im sure this thread is already on here, but this search engine on here is WHACK. i got everything from who lives in louisiana to opening a trunk. anyway, what is the best gas out there? and why. i use chevron, and i read on some thread that since techron was added, it decreased gas mileage. and when i say Best, i mean as far as good gas mileage

For me, gas is gas is gas. I buy gas at BP, Sam's Club, Mobil, whatever. I have always used 87 Octance and had good gas milage. But when I fueled in Iowa, and bought 90 with Ethanal, i got way better gas milage. Many on here will tell you to stick with 87 octance, just like it does in the owners manual.

I just make sure it doesn't have ethanol. For me, the most convienant, ethanol-free gas is at Phillips 66.

why??? If it has a little ethanol, than its ok. Its the E-85 stuff that will screw up your engine.

Shell time after time gives me the best milage. But I can't always get it. So I'll go for BP or Speedway if I can't get my Shell.

The best gas I ever had came from curry...

seriously though I use BP whenever I can but 7-11 is closer. I think BP is really great.

My car is fairly new (1700 miles now) and I've only used Exxon (regular)...I'm getting around 400 miles to the tank (tank being 10.5-11 galons empty).

Now that person needs some help. I dont know if anyone here has ever pumped diesel. That **** stinks from the moment you pick up the pump-nozzle thingy. Plus I thought that wasnt possible since I thought they made the nozzle, fatter so people couldnt do that.

pour 87 from 76 or chevron.....no point of pouring a higher octane if ur still running on a stock D17 with minor engine mods.. just wasting ur money. higher octanes doen'st do much for our cars. but if u like it then go for it. but 87 will do u guys fine. save some money

I buy the cheapest gas I can find....I dont care what brand it is. I never notice any significant mileage difference either....since that varies depends on driving conditions.....

You bring up a very good point because the gas station he claimed this event occured does has different shaped nozzles for disel and gas. I'm not really sure if I want to know how he got the disel in the gas tank, but i see him every so often so this should make for an intresting conversation

..

so cheap gas wont hurt your car?
like race trac is like a little over a dollar now, when others is 1.45, etc.

so is there no difference in the quality?

HOLY WHOA! I want to buy gas at that price. I just got gas today and the cheapest gas I can find is $1.79 at Shell, other places are $1.83. Thats for 87 also. Cheapo gas wont hurt the car unless youre running FI.

Yeah, I pay $1.79 / Gallon for Premium (88 Octane)

It's like $1.69, $1.79, & $1.89 for gas here in Montana
I would LOVE to pay a buck-fifty a gallon for gas ...
