New Generation Spoiled Kids
My young sister's a highschool senior now and I hear her every week telling me about a guy that got a G35/350z/IS300/WRX for his/her birthday at school.
When I was in highschool ( 4 yrs ago ), if someone had a new Civic, it was a hot car everyone knew about.
Right now, if a regular man works so hard and gets a G35... they're just as equivalent as some kid in highschool with rich parents
JEALOUSY!

Kids in high school with rich parents get that little ego boost for that time... but after college you see who the real winners are. Those "car" kids usually end up at dead end jobs and you'll be the one driving the ferrari.

I can't wait for mine..... MUHAHAH!
I mean.... I JUST got my own car as a graduation gift this year and I'm fresh outta college.
In high school I was driving a '85 pontiac 6000 STE. You all probably don't even know what that is.

i have to say...my parents helped me out quite a bit with my cars in high school. i thought i was spoiled. but i never drove a hot car like that. i am only 19 so i havent been outta high school long. thats just nuts to buy your kids those kinda cars. my parents paid for half of my first car (zx2) and i sold that and bought a prelude (93) which i totaled and was a total lost. my parents being the nice ppl that they are, helped me with a hefty downpayment on the vic. so i guess i am kinda spoiled, but not like that.
my dad bought me my 85 300zx for highschool and my civic for college but i got a trade in for an rsx and modded it with the jdm version engine... looks exactly the same stock stuff. i slowly work my *** off paying for the loan though... basically i used his good credit since i have none

In my graduating year I bought a 1984 ford mustang. It was 5 years old. My brother helped me buy that car.
I cannot understand why parents buy there kids really expensive cars for graduation...or in that matter buy their kids cars at all. My children are going to have to get jobs and pay for what they want by them selves.

My first car: 1982 Pontiac Phoenix (brother of the Chevy Citation). Dad gave me that car in my senior year to drive around because he bought a used Neon. The car was ~15 years or so old when it was given to me. It wasn't worth much, but hey - IT WAS A CAR!
Drove that car for ~a year or so, until my dad got a new car. At that time, my dad sold me the Neon and I drove that around for just over two years, until I got my Civic.
The only help I had with buying my Civic was having my dad co-sign with me for the loan. At the time, even though I had been working just over 2 years, I didn't have enough established credit. If I had waited a bit longer, I would have been able to have bought my car on my own.
I wouldn't consider that being spoiled, just being lucky that my parents are willing to work with and help me with stuff. I know that I'll be willing to help my kids out, but I sure as hell am not buying them their own car, unless it's a beater. Also, my kids *will not* get off easy and have me pay for their insurance. If they want to drive, they're going to have to get a job to pay for it themselves - just like I had to do. Hey, if you want the responsibility of having to drive a car, you better be able to afford it.

I didn't get my first car until I was 19. It was a hand-me-down Bronco II. Then I got a 1992 Ford mustang auto, 4cyl. Even if I have the money I still wouldn't spend more than 20k on a car for my child!!

The high school I went to had a large population of richies too (and poor kids as well).
It was not uncommon to see brand new porsches, vettes, bmws, etc in the parking lot. Sad thing is, the teachers lot was full of crappy used cars becayse they make sh*t for money.
I agree that it demeans the value of something nice that you bust your *** to earn when someone else gets the same thing for free because their parents have money and hooked them up.
I was very lucky when I was yoinger, my folks helped me with cars, but I never had a brand new anything until I got my jeep when I was like 19 or 20.
Since then, I have purhcased my own cars, and as my job situatoin has gone to hell, my car values have too. I expect my next car will be a Yugo at this rate.

u guys can flame'em all u want, but seriously listen to me. I'm only 19, second year of university so i got like another decade of school to go. but when i get out and actually start makin some money and have a family, i honestly hope that my family will be financially stable enough so that i can afford to buy my kids a car when they graduate from high school. Admittedly, i have no plans in buying htem something over hot, but i think a civic is a good first car. If you've worked your whole life to make your kids's life better? then thats half the battle

I work for a Honda dealership, we had some parents come in with their 17 yr. old son, and were going to buy him his first car. They wanted to buy him a fully decked out 03 Pilot with the DVD and all.
He said that he didn't want it because it looked like something that a girl would drive. He wanted an Eclipse convertible instead.

'86 honda accord. I loved that thing.
I started working when I was 16.
yes, my parents helped me with this civic, but i'm not spoiled.
Wouldn't you want to be able to help out your children with decent, reliable cars when you get older? I don't think thats spoiling them.
But when we're talking 350zs and Audi TTs. That's a different story.
At the same time, it's all relative to the income of the parents. However if the kids are bratty ****** who don't know what manual labor is...then YES! SPOILED LITTLE RICH KIDS.
GET A JOB!

im a senior in high school and paid the down payment, and the monthly payments for my car, and half my insurance(only because i havent had a ticket/wreck yet and my older sister didnt pay for **** with her car). It would be nice to spoiled, but you really do respect what you have more when you pay for it. Its hard working and going to school but its worth it and i like helping my mom out. My sister is 21 and my dad pays for her car and insurance....he didnt even offer to help me out. But i dont care, cuz kids at my school with their 00 Si's modded (thats how they bought it
) dont have **** on me. When i get my mods its all my money...not mommy or daddies
I live in the sticks outside Raleigh...in raleigh their are some really nice cars in the high schools. Mainly at mine though its brand new RX300s, Tahoes, 01 Preludes, or big *** redneck trucks

I worked my *** off for the money to get that car. It was used but still in pretty good shape.
