Rep Power: 373 I wouldnt get an 01. I had an 01 and I sold it because all i had was problems with the car. You want to stay away from first year cars. If you are going to buy an older civic I would either get a 6th gen 1996-2000 or a 2002, 2003 or a new 2004.

Rep Power: 360 if you want to wait for body parts then get the o4 but if you know you can make an 02 the way you want then get that one, and i would say 02 unless you like the gauges on the 03

Rep Power: 0 I would buy the '04 and forget about modding the car. Buy a nicer car with the money you would use to mod an older one.
It's never a good idea to buy an older car because you want to spend the saved money (over buying a newer car) on mods.
Anyhow, get a '02-'03 if you just have to mod the thing. Stay away from the '01s.

Rep Power: 789 I think the 01-02 looks better stock. Go with an 02 since they improved from the previous year. If I could do it all over, I would get a 99-00 civic. Those are the best IMO and actually look like civics. The 04s look like any other regular car out there.

Rep Power: 328 Yeah, if I could do it over, I would have gotten a 6thgen hatch or a teg. But my dad kept pushing me to get the new car and when we went to check it out he was like bam, heres your new car, btw your payments are ....

Rep Power: 789 When I was looking, the cars that were a few years old were only a couple thousand less than the new ones. Parents talked me into the new one. At least you know it's new and won't have problems for a while.

Rep Power: 789 Ha...04 looks like a camry, corolla, civic hybrid, and possibly a combination of a few other cars. If you want a real CIVIC and not just a car that looks like all the rest, go with an older model.

Rep Power: 0 yeah just like white2k2ex said, go for an 03.
you'll be getting a new car, and you'll save money cuz they're probably getting rid of it to make room for the 04's.
wait until around october, and you should be able to find the right 03 for you, at a really good price.

Rep Power: 0 yah im kinda in the same situation as you, my 2001 got written off so now im wondering whether to get another used car or save up a little for a new 04. I wonder what aftermarket support the 04 will get? since presumably the new generation civics would be coming out next year i guess.
hrmm, when would be a good time to buy 2001-2003 ? didnt they already have they're summer clearout thing.

Rep Power: 0 I know. get like a 01 acura instead of an 04 civic. you could probably get a non type S CL or TL. or you could get a 02 RSX. for probably the same amount of money.
