boy does this suck for this guy and his car
found this while looking for info on h22 swaps. btw those things are ****in huge!!!!

"this is just a general posting. i went to a shop near wear i live called finishline to have my 92 prelude fixed. i asked them to fix the problem {which from what they told me was bent valves because the timing was off}. he said he could fix everything for around 700 or do a h22a head swap on my h23 block for 1700. i told him all i had was 1100 so he agreed to do the work if i gave them the money up front. so i did (like an idiot). i called many times in the next 2-3 weeks and he replied that he was waiting for the head to get resurfaced.i didn't know how long that took or even when and where exacly he sent it so i waited for about a week then i went to the shop where they said he wasn't working but they think he sent the it off already. they said my car was at the other shop still because they moved shop to a new location but had not had my car towed yet. so i went to check on it and guess what the window was broke out of it. so naturally i called bitched and complained to everyone and their mother at that place till they finally moved it to the new shop. then a few days later i go back to the shop and not only have they not got the new window for it, but they left the window uncovered in the rain. so agian pissed as ever i called them when i got home and they finally opened shop and they said they would take care of it. i cooled down a little for a day or two then finally got ahold of the owner BRIAN KATZ{the same guy who broke the deal with me}.I complained to him about the situation and he said the new window is on the way. the day after easter {about two days later} i get a call from a friend saying he is at that shop and they are salvaging parts at the shop. he said the owner split and took the money with him and my valve cover{who steals a valve cover?}. i was so pissed i went down there and everything was gone, and i mean everything. from the rims to the tire machines all gone in one night. so in a period of about 6 weeks i lost 1100 dollars a valve cover{basterd} and got a ed up drivers side door{from the rain}. now my car sits in the driveway while i try to save the money to buy an engine for it. the moral of this story{for those of you who read the whole thing lol} is don't give money up front EVER! and if you find a guy named brian katz KICK HIS *** and send me an e-mail of where he is. an do not do bussiness with him!"

and if i were u... i would have left my car there and called the cops. FOOL... then filed an issurance claim stating theift of all ur **** including the motor and had insurance pay for it all
what ur nuts... i drive at like 120 cruisin speed.. i have Police plates.. i dont get pulled over.. if i do i never get a ticket... i make it to central FL in 13.5 hours usually and its a 16-17 hour normal drive....
ill make it to you in like 5 hours TOPS.. lol ...

Rep Power: 374 But on with the topic..........It is total bullsh*t that this had to happen to that guy. I mean honestly, to take your car to a shop and have them rip you off like that? I would personally hunt the owner down and beat the **** outta him.

i dunno, its not too hard to relocate a shop. especially if it is a small one.

Always check out references, call the better business bureau.
If anything seems wrong, take your car away. If they move the shop, take your car back. Remember, no work, no pay. If my car was ever left outside, I would raise hell and take my car back, PERIOD.
