A worthy successor to the elegant and powerful Bugattis of the past, the Veyron 16·4 is powered by a 1001-horsepower W16 quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter engine with all-wheel drive. Bugatti claims this new super car will reach a speed of 252 mph. Acceleration is also impressive–the Veyron can reach 180 mph in just 14 seconds!

Ah yes, the Veyron. When 500+hp just isn't enough, double it!!!!

This car should smash ALL previous street legal car records, and put the McLaren to shame. It better, at that price and with those power figures.

I dont know if the article mentions it, but I read that if you want to go past 200 some-odd miles /hr, then you have to call EB(Bugatti) and tell him you want to hit top speed... then they will come to your door with set of Veyron specific tires made to reach 250+ mph and not crack, blow, etc etc..
