03 civic ex for rx7?
Re: 03 civic ex for rx7?
What do you want Reliability (honda) or speed (rx7). And the gas milage on the RX7s is awful. And the Honda can seat more people. Not to mention the RX7 will be used... so no telling how good condition it will be. Also cars like that are really expensive... the only way it could be cheap is if it had a whole lot of miles.. thus the car would probably already be in need of a lot of repair. Dont do it.

how old are you cause if your young your gonna get raped by insurance my friend just got a 93 rx7 and he has a perfect driving record and he is paying over $4000 a year. plus like stated before it takes the best gas and a lot of it. you have to rebuild the engine about every 60,000 miles and you cant beat honda reliability. oh and damn that car fast 255 hp. my friend gets scared driving it went fron an eclipse rs to that and drives it like grandma. just my $.02

You have to make sure that the RX7 is in top notch condition....That has an rotary engine that is notorious for having engine problems...If it is in good condition and you can afford the insurance, that car has alot of potential...Ummmm twin turbo (excuse me while I drool all over my keyboard)...I like the reliability of my civic and I plan on keeping it another 6 months before a trade in on a new Infinity G35

Yeah, I test drove one and now that I got a big promotion at work, I plan on getting a coupe...They are so fast and come out of the factory "hooked up" 18" wheels, tuned intake manifold and exhaust....Just check out the specs: G35 Coupe
like kcm said, if you dont know how to work on the rotary, and dont live near a shop that specializes in rotary engines, i wouldnt get it. i wouldnt trust mazda with that car. if you do buy one, id start saving some money to pay for stuff when it breaks, of course its not guarenteed that something will go wrong...but with those engines, you never know. theyre very nice cars and id love to own one, they define the word sports car, the best that a car for that price can.

I used to have several RX2's. Loved them, miss them dearly. Fast and dependabe, but above all: SMOOOOOOTH. The rotary does have a fatal flaw, however. Once it gets overheated, the rotor housings crush, and the motor sucks coolant. Total rebuild. If anyone is thinking of getting an older rotary car, start it up COLD, and take the radiator cap off. If it bubbles, the motor's shot. Ummm, obviously, if it blows out a cloud of white smoke or oil when started, it's shot as well. NEVER look at someone's car if it's already warmed up. You have to test it from stone cold. The RX7 is a great car, with a good engine. Be prepared to rebuild that engine if it's well used. Most people drive the living hell out of those motors.
