Mobile or Cheveron. And always Octane 91. Doesn't have anything to do with trying to get performance outta the car. I just do it because I hear that 91 Octane is better for the engine because it burns cleaner and leaves less deposits.
And I try to do the best possible things for my car.

I vary mine. . I most always get Amoco/BP gas, because my dad works there on Saturday nights and he pays for it!! :-P.
Most of the time it's the low grade, 87 I think. . .
Every once in awhile I'll throw in some 89 stuff with the ethanol..
Then once in a blue moon, if I run outta gas mid week or am not able to stop in on Saturday and I have to fork over the money for my own gas. I'll get the 91 stuff. .

I still don't understand why people put more than 87 in a civic unless they are running FI. 87 octane is all you need.
for the love of God.... DIE SUBJECT DIE!!!!
this subject has to have been discussed 1000x already, search if you don't believe me! All you dumb asses that use >87 octane on a NA Civic are throwing so much fawkin money down the drain!
The fact that you think 89 or 91 is better for your car proves you don't know the first thing about how engines work

Anything over 87 octane for a stock CIVIC is a waste of money. if you THINK
it's better for your car.. it's all in your head.
Higher octanes burn no cleaner than 87, and vice versa. All gasolines have at least the government minimum of detergents in the gas to do that job...hence why yes, some BRANDS of gas ARE better than others...Shell and Mobile being at the top of the list in quality. If you want clean gas, do research to find where the detergents are.
The ONLY purpose of a higher octane gasoline is to prevent detonation in a higher compression engine...of which a NA Civic is NOT! The reason sports cars regularly use high octane gas is because their engines were designed utilizing a high compression ratio... ie. RSX-S, S2k, etc... Using a higher octane gas will not turn your car into a RSX-S or S2k(obviously)... it's simply a requirement for THOSE engines.

I go with 93 here in the east coast. I figure if I spend so much time working on and sriving my car, why not give it the best. The higher grades are also cleaner for the engine. Think of the prolonged use on the engine and what you're putting into it. My $.02

if you think I'm making this all up, check out http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/autos/octane.htm ... if the Federal Trade Commission isn't a reputable source, I dunno who is!
JSWhaler, you may very well be hurting your car. Theres been a strong correlation between people that use higher than recommended octane and catalytic converter damage. My dad, who used to be a mechanic, yelled at me years back when he found out I was putting 91 into my Cavalier... that's when he told me this... researched it further for myself and I've found similar stories.

This topic has been discussed at least half a dozen different times over the past year in about 3 different sections of the forum.
Several people have already correctly pointed out that using 89 or 91 octane gas in your Civic does absolutely nothing for your car and is just pissing money away.
I have no doubt that in a few weeks someone else will start the same thread and a dozen people will chime and once again beat this topic to death.
