Sister getting a car...
She just turned 21 as is moving on from her neon shes had the last two years. My family has a thing with the nissan dealership because my mom bought her Xterra and Maxima from there back in the day. But my sister is interested in the following... Sentra SE-R SpecV, VW Jetta, 03 Accord , and even a Subaru WRX (not STi though, she doesnt want all that power or the insurance, even though my dad will pay for her spoiled tail)
She likes 350z too...but here the insurance for one is crazy and shes more into sedans than coupes...but im trying to get her into the WRX, all i know is i'll have to "borrow" it when im working on my car. But what would you say?

The interior of the WRX is chintzy for $24,000. I don't think she'd be happy with that in the long run.
I think the V6 Accord would be the best choice for her.

Either way, Civicskater said she doesn't want all that power, anyway.

CS, the WRX is a solid car with very respectable performance, expecially at the price. The 350Z is an incredible value for the performance you get. But at a mere 25 or so HP less than the STi, she should probably avoid it. That and it's RWD, so if she's not used to driving RWD she could easily get into trouble.
The SpecV is also a very good contender. . smallest engine of the bunch, I believe, but VERY potent and is likely a blast to drive.

Yes. . she should avoid the Jetta. I know the Beetles are "Hencho en Mexico" and I think the Jettas are to. Although I'm probably mistaken. Still, it would be the slug of the group, but it IS a girly car, anyway.
Out of the bunch, I think I'd go for the WRX. AWD and good handling, very decent powerplant, good looks, lots of room, and can easily be modded later if she desires more speed out of it.
I wish her luck with her decision. . . to me it seems easy, to her I'm sure it's not.

Ok thanks guys. I forgot about the VW Mexico plant, haha. But i think today im going with her to the Subaru/Nissan (same owners) and Honda dealership. I'll let you know what she got. But personally I think the SE-R is pretty tight, RWD, not good in snow, thats the only thing i dont like about it....now its down to what she likes
im going with n00dleboy on this one, 03 Accord Coupe is a sweet ride. Just avoid VW's they are some of the worst cars on the road right now. My step dads has all kinds of problems and the vw dealerships are hell to deal with. With the money he has spent on keeping that POS running he could have bought a pimped out BMW.

yes, please no VW. White2k2, youre one of a few ppl I know with a VW that has praise for it. I have seen small things from taillights, to trunk not closing to major things like ECU, windows falling off track, and the weird oil they use, and coolant.... lists goes on
Well, the WRX just doesn't seem like a chicks car - the VW cabrio is more a chicks car, but if she's digg'n the classy look and likes sedans i think the TL-S is perfect since it's got the power, tiptronic, 4 doors, classy look specially with the OEM aero kit and it's FR.
I'm just not digg'n the looks of the sentra-v. It's just a regular sentra with a more beefed up engine. I'd at LEAST CONSIDER the mazdaspeed if you're looking at the sentra spec-v. Same power band, FR, 4 doors, wicked handling and much nicer look'n IMO w/ 17" gunmetal racing harts + LSD and oem side skirts, fogs..
well keep us updated.

SHE GOT A V6 BASE MODEL MUSTANG!!!! haha jk
No, she got the next best thing (IMO) to a WRX, the RS Impreza, little bit cheaper but same feel, lesspower, but still AWD. I like it, she got 5 speed thank goodness and that thing is fun. She let me drive it to town and it was great, i test drove a WRX along with her and that biotch is fun too, haha. Probably my next car defiantely. But she liked the outside of the RS more, no big hood scope, not girlie. And just more calm and no intercooler. more "girlie"
But the Subaru people are great, really open and they know their **** about their cars which is good to see. And we also drove the Sentra SE-R it was fun and rear wheel drive but didn't have the bang i thought it would with 180hp and 180ft torque. The interior is kinda stiff but it does drive good. The nissan people were too busy getting that "buy" they wanted so thats another reason she went with Subaru.
But if you cant afford a WRX, the RS is pretty tight, only 160hp but i mean, with a turbo. you're in busines!!!

Ya I rode shotgun on the test drive, that thing was funnnn but my friend kept on bringing the rpms up when he shifted. Me and another friend keep telling him to get the RS Impreza but he is set on a WRX.

Perhaps we just got lucky, but none of my friends that have VWs have had any problems either. Maybe it's something in the gasoline...
