exhaust violation

I have a 2001 civic ex with a cat back DC sports twin canister system. Today a policeman gave a ticket to my son for a "modified exhaust". There is no question that the sound from this exhaust is better than stock but it is not loud and yet here in Louisiana with so many people with open exhausts this is really strange. Has anyone had experiences with state and "violations" of the law with any "modified exhaust" from oem. Any suggestions on how to fight this? Thanks

its diff's from state to state, but that exhaust is 50 state legal, i think it comes with papers or a card that states that, and isnt over the 95 db limit, id goto court, hope he doesnt show, if he doesnt, your off, if he does, have that paper work with u.

I agree if its street legal, make sure you have the paper work. Some courts may send you to DMV for inspection. I f you have a silencer put it on for that. Good Luck!
