Rep Power: 289 5th gen prelude or 6th gen civic si?
im trying to decide which to get as my next car.....im basing my decision on aftermarket support and platform....basically, i want something that i wont run into any restrictions or modding problems....any suggestions......is there a bigger after market support for the b16 than the h22? does the si feel quick stock as it might take me a while to build a blown motor for it.....thanks

I'd take the 99-00 Si, in EBP, but that's just my opinion. I believe there is way more support for the B-series than the H-series. As for the Si feeling quick for stock... well, I test drove one and the butt dyno was through the roof!

I've driven a '92 automatic Prelude with 160,000 miles on it. It drove pretty nice, actually, but it felt huge and bulky compared to the '99 Si I drove.
Both are nice cars, just do your research and drive both of them. The Prelude is actually a nice car to have, too, it's just got a little weight problem is all.

Rep Power: 289 the only thing is that my wife is afraid that i wont be initially happy with the power of it and will want to dump 5 grand for a turbo....but them again i plan to do that whether i get a lude or si....and besides....anything is better than my 7th gen ex right.....ill feel a definite difference but will it be like night and day......i drove a 2000 ss auto which was actually quite sluggish....on the test drive, i raced a sunfire gt and he held up with me the whole time ( a half a carlength behind but he held up)....so im undecided....

Rep Power: 289 well i like both....they each have their unique +'s and -'s...like, if im not mistaken, the si has a slightly larger back seat as i have a child still in a car seat....the lude has more stock power....both have dohc's and both have several turbo apps for under 4 grand but i heard the 5th gen lude has severe tranny problems but i havnt heard the same for the si.....heard the tranny goes after like 50,000 miles and that the h22 consumes alot of oil....with the vtec in all.....i could see myself in each and they are both promising but i like the openess of the si platform and its quite a bit chaeper than its prelude counter-part....basically...i need to know which is a more reliable vehicle...i know its a honda and all but not all hondas are created equally......if i didnt have a child, id have an s2000......but.....

Rep Power: 289 about the gsr....i just dont like that integra front clip with the round headlights and all.....i appreciate all your help and sorry to take up your time.....i just want to make as educated a decision as possible and what better way to find out about the two than to ask the people who know....

id go for the Si....my reason is because they are good cars, along with a prelude but i've noticed that the Si's in my area that have been modded seem to sell quicker than preludes, but both do hold high resale values...i dont know why that is ive just seen it in classifieds and auto market books that they'll be gone in a couple days. Another reason is i think the insurance is lower on an Si than a prelude...if im wrong sorry but i think it is
But you're choice should be personal taste, as far as performance they're very close but i think civics drive smoother and they get better gas mileage, which is a plus

Rep Power: 289 thank you guys for all your help...i think id be pleased with either......ill prolly go to the dealership to drive an si and make that be the decision maker.....i just wish they both didnt look so damn sexy...imo anyways.....i think the si would be a smarter decision for the fact of the cost, insurance, and there seems to be such a big market for the si....
