Alezza's AREN'T RICE!
At least mine aren't.
I was at the with one of my friends today while he took his cat to the vet today. I noticed that the scale they had to weigh the animals was very sensitive. So I asked if I could weigh some things and they said sure. I weighed both the stock tails and the altezzas and the altezzas were lighter. Thus, they are not rice because they do help with weight reduction on my car. True it was only a couple of ounces but every little bit helps. Every 100lbs is the equivilent to 10hp so I'm partways there.

and you've got a longer road to walk down to see true horsepower from that beautiful D17 under your hood..
but congrats on the weight reduction

not at the dyno, but your track speed.
and only 100lbs won't make that much of a difference. But if you could shave 500lbs (=50hp effect) you might see some changes in 1/4 mile times.

Speaking of ricey. My sisters friend knows this guy with a red older gen Celica. He had a huge alum wing on it before. Now he sprayed it with black primer and got a hardcore Terminator wing. haha. I found out he works at pepboys when I went there to get some Cool blue bulbs. I have a generic intake on my car and it sounds loud and ricy. So I thoght hmm I wanna mess with this guy. I was thinking baout asking him if they have any intakes. I was gonna be like party boy style in a way. "Ya im looking for an intake, you know somethin loud and ricy." hahaha but he was in the back where the tires are and stuff.

you know what....get a dremel...or cutting tool and take your stock tails off....Look at the back of it and start shavig and cutting of plastic...It will never show....And i bet you can get it lighter than those altezzas
well altezza's were originally for the "altezza" or the lexus is...it was a resionable mod...it was kind of like s2k lights on a civic..the problem was that it became mainstream and companys started to make ugly designs and they were everywhere...after they went mainstream, they lost all meaning
I am sad about that. Its like everyone who gets a civic throws clear tails on it and trys to act like they have a tricked out car. I don't Have anything against the clear taillights as long as the rest of the car has money into it. Kit and clear lights go well together. Just don't slap on clear lights and a decal then expect people to think you have a tight ride.

I don't like our stock tail lights much . . But I definately like them better than the Alteezas. Alteeza's are ok, but they are wayy over used. When you start seeing them on Trucks, Grand Ams, Camaros, etc. . then they are just stupid .. So IMO . not worth the money speant. If the car came with Alteezas I dont' think I would swap them for the ones I have now, but on the same note, I'm not changing my stockies out for Alteezas. I don't really like either one, so I'll just stick with what I got. I have stock and I'm not changing for now, unless they come out with something better than Alteezas .

yeah, common track knowledge about weight reduction usually is 100lbs=.2 sec less on 1/4 mile. this of course varies because theres tons of factors involved. but it is safe to say that a 500lb weight reduction can result in 1 sec decrease in /4 mile which means i could probably hit 15s. but a 500 lb weight reduc means would be damn hard to lose...
something must be done, the TYCs are the best euro tails out there for our cars, but they still look cheesie. Realistically speaking, how hard is it to make a set of tail lights? I thought of doing that, take a mold of the back of the OEM ones that are sitting my garage, then use clay to make a mold for a new style of eurolights (I gotta photochop it first). Go to Canadian Tire and get that plastick mixture and pour it into the mold, paint it gun-metal, strap some LED matrices in place of bulbs and mirrors (since that can't be done at home), and use the TYC clear cover to cover it all up. This is way off topic, lol, but it's been on my mind 'cause I'm not happy with the TYCs, but the OEM ones look too plain on a red civic.
