a sleeper is a car you dont expect. i.e. that hatch with type r seatbelt pads and a broadway, that kills you by 6 car lenghts

but I get what your saying.....it's like a 4-door civic with the stock rims and tires with the big ugly spolier running low 12's
A Toyota tercel w/ a fully built 4A- GE (P/P, TODA internals, flywheel...), a TRD set of gears. It would make around 300 hp at the flywheel. The gearing/ flywheel etc would improve acceleration like crazy. (this car just tops 2000 lbs stock!) As the motor is about the same size as stock (1.6L vs 1.5L) it would be a total sleeper, even if you pop the hood.

A sleeper is the 1986 or 1987 Buick Regal T-Type, available with the exact same drivetrain as the Grand National. Imagine that same power with a padded vinyl roof and a bench seat

I'm gonna vote for this Focus I saw in Autoweek magazine. It has a complete SVT Mustang Cobra rear wheel drive conversion that's cranked up to 500 HP. Shut the hood and it looks like a sleeper to me...
GN's are sleepers only to the people that don't know about them.

True, but most people don't know about them. Most people see them, think "Oh, it's a redneck in an old Monte Carlo," and walk off. Remember - we're the minority.

Most of the foreign luxury sedans. (Audis, Mercs, Lexus, etc) Those look like grocery getters, but they gott some hella power.
Like the Audi RS 6
The limited edition RS 6 (available Summer 2003) is a powerhouse five-passenger sedan that lives up to the Audi reputation for performance.

True, but what you may or may not be expecting is an M5 4 door sedan sticking to the heals of your Corvette. .
rusty crx like mine with a b20b/b16a2 head... 12 second car... i need to find a b20b somewhere from a wrecked crv sometime and buy a b16 head from ebay or something. i then will turbo the **** outta that car

the t-type differed in that it had no intercooler... i had an 86, best 1/4 mile: 12.39
also, the suspension can be upgraded with GNX quality stuff, .92 g's...
considering that the motor is stable up to 1100hp, yeah... i'd say thats a good foundation for a sleeper....
