Should the exterior temperature be displayed? [solved]
Just purchased a used Civic Coupe LX 2012 (in Canada). I noticed that the exterior temperature is not displayed and does not appear in the menu setup. A note in the owners manual indicates that it is available only on certain models. Considering that the LX is pretty much full equipped is it normal? Is there something I can check to verify for example if a sensor is located in the front bumper? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
re: Should the exterior temperature be displayed? [solved]
LX isn't the fully equipped trim. For the sedan, it was the 2nd lowest trim level. For the coupe, it's the lowest
DX (4-door only) > LX > EX > EXL > Si
Looking at the part number for the 2012 Civic ambient temperature sensor, the LX is not a compatible model. Tells me that the LX does not come with ambient temperature monitoring

That site caters to the USDM market, but seeing as how it lists neither the LX or DX, I'd imagine the CDM follows suit
I found information about adding the ambient sensor and adding to the display menu. But it involves quite a bit of work including dash board removal (part of it). I will reconsider the job next summer when the outside temperature is more friendly. If I do I will post the information on this site.
