Engine code R18A1 vs R18A4
Engine code R18A1 vs R18A4
Hi,
I am a bit confused about which engine is in my car. In the Chilton repair manual there are steps for certain repairs that list two different options. One is applicable to "2006-11 Honda CIVIC; Except R18A4 Engine" and the other is applicable to "2006-11 Honda CIVIC; R18A4 Engine"
I have a 2007 Honda Civic LX 5AT US model. However, I cannot find anywhere in the manual or specs on the honda web site which engine code this car has. Is it written somewhere? I did not check registration. However, I am assuming it would be R18A1 based on Wikipedia entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_R_engine#R18A1. However, I cannot find any reference online to R18A4. What car is the R18A4 engine used in?
Thanks!

Re: Engine code R18A1 vs R18A4
I think the R18A4 was the GX trim, the natural gas engine. The engine code should be stamped on the block somewhere so you can verify. However, I don't know where it's located on the R series.
