New Wheel Time!

Now that the weather is 'better'..I guess its time for some new wheels. I was thinking about the Motegis last time I was looking back in the Fall, but now I've seen some Enkei's.

What do you guys think..and has anyone seen any other wheels with a similar look?

I'm gonna go with Silver 16's.

Whichever one is lighter. LOL I like the bottom ones 'cause they look lighter. Good choice on 16's though dewd. I thought that I would be okay with 45 profile tires on my 17's, but the roADS sux0r! I think I'll get my cracked wheel replaced, repair all of them myself, re-paint everything, and sell them off to get some lightweight 16's with wider tires. Yeah, that's the plan me thinks.

Now watch the very same thing happen with my new 16's. Now THAT would suck! Bleh.

I think I'm gonna go with the Motegis. I've debated on them a few times now and I always end up leaning towards them. I think I like the 12 spoke design better than the 10 spoke. Someone suggested the OZ Superleggeras as well,

but they're gonna cost at least $100 more for each wheel. Weight wise, the Motegis weigh half a pound more than the Enkeis so thats not really a factor.

Thanks for the offer bhaz413, but I dont want 17s

Now I gotta decide on Tires. I found a package deal on this one site...

-- (4) Motegi MR12 Silver Wheels size 16x7.0
-- (4) 205/40HR16 Kuhmo 711 Tires
-- (4) Center Caps
-- (16) Lugs
-- (4) Hub Rings
-- (4) Chrome Valve Stems
-- (4) Mounting and balancing
-- (1) Shipping all 4 wheels and tires (48 US States only)

for $799. Anyone know about those Kuhmos? I'm gonna switch back to stock for the winter, so I want a good tire for the rest of the year. Speed rating for at least 110mph. Want something thats good for cornering and will last. Opinions?

dont ge the 711's. panda had those on his car and he skidded out like a mo'fo' ALL the time. those tires have no grop at all. the 712's are better if you can get those.
the flakens (azenis i think...) are good too. i dont have those so i dont really have driving experience.
i have the hankook<sp> ventus. NEVER skidded in them in turns. great grip on dry...decent grip on whet, altho still some skidding at the start (specially up hills). i still think its a great tire. ive had them on for like 6 months and the tire wear is minimal. i havent rotated the tires yet and its still good. (im gonna rotate just to have even wear tho).

Edit:
799 is a damn good price tho, so if youre not a crazy driver i guess you could get away w/ 711s....but i just wouldnt cause i dont drive "normally" hehe

The Kumho 711's suck! Don't get those. The ones I have (the 712's) are allright. They're not terrible at grip, but they're not the best. What they are the best at though is the best bang for the buck. Good grip, good sidewall, excellent price and excellent treadwear. It's actually amazing that they can make a treadwear of 380 and still get away with the grip this tire has.

There's a couple other tires out there. I suggest taking a look at tirerack.com; they're got great reviews.

my suggestion is the parada spec-2s. Sick tire, good in the rain as well. Have a treadwear rating of 300 and a traction rating of AA. Stand up to tons of abuse, and have a very agressive tread pattern.

Yeah, I dont think I'll go with the 711s then.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Keep em coming. I'm gonna try to search around for reviews and stuff, but work is gonna be real busy for me today. Not gonna have much free time to search..
