So I was on the Mass Pike on Thursday morning, commuting in heavy traffic at about 70mph, and all of a sudden a sheet of ice came flying off of a box truck that was in front of me in the next lane. Normally when this happens, the chunks come flying off and land behind me (it happens plenty of times during the winter). Unfortunately this time, the ice SLAMMED against MY windshield.... It scared the living HELL out of me!!! I nearly **** my pants!!! When it hit, it completely destroyed the windshield. Small pieces of glass landed all over me and gave me little cuts all over. I was SO pissed!!!!!!!! I didn't get the plate of the truck, but it really doesn't matter since, in Mass, the insurance covers it and your insurance doesn't go up. I did give the driver my one finger salute as I drove by him, like only a true Mass-hole can.... I proceeded to drive another hour to work, and then another hour and a half home from work that night. Everytime I went over a bump, more pieces of glass fell onto me.....

Needless to say, it's rained for the past few days so it hasn't been replaced yet. It's on schedule to be replaced on Monday.....

I took a bunch of pictures to show how bad it really is... a few of you saw it last night in the dark and can attest how lucky I am that they put the plastic coating on windshields so they don't shatter.... Or I could be sitting in a hospital right now getting glass shards taken out of my face and eyes....

i would have def. gotten that trucks plates #...thats a road hazard and he needs to pay you. thats emotional distress right there. lol

Damn! That sucks. The same thing happened to me once, but no breakage. One time, it was a tire rolling by itself along the highway going about 45mph. That was fun.

Yeah, that's messed up dewd. I saw it on Fri. too. Bleh. Oh well, as long as nothing else got damaged then you're going to be getting a brand new windshield with a little blue stripe up top. Woohoo!

yea, on my way home back to NJ today from worcester, a rock kicked up on 84 and chipped and cracked the middle of my windshield. my old '89 prelude NEVER had any type of accidents or things like this, but this car jsut attracts all sorts of stupid accidents. Im still waiting to get the scratches on my front bumper fixed (SUV backed into me) and the ones on my back bumper fixed (girl at school backed into me) as well as tracking down the guy that did the body work on the side of my car last year since the clear coat is peeling. super.
