I think I'm blind!!!!!

I was at Market Basket and I was backing up to park my car and I hit one of those big stupid poles you know, the big poles painted florescent yellow so noone would be dumd enough to hit them!!!!! then later one I reversed into a black truck.

now I have some scraches on my rear bumper and red numbers from the trucks licenses plate.

I swear I think I'm going blind.

Anyone know of any place where I can get these scraches touched up? in MA area?

I don't think you are necesarily going blind.
just be a little more careful while driving.

I'm not sure where you can get scratches touched up proffecionaly.

Now dont you wish you listened to your mom when she said you'll go blind if you.....ahem.

Yeah, I hit me a yellow pole too when I first started driving. Left a nice line of yellow on my bumper. Got the yellow off but you can still see a little indentation where I hit.

I've only been hit myself...someone backed into my front and broke the headlight and warped the hood...sucked so bad! Oh wait, if you don't count my car, I backed right into a minivan pulling out of my church's parking lot...luckily I hit a relative's car, and there was not a scratch on his, but the taillight was busted. It was all good though since I busted the other set of taillights earlier that week

Yeah, you can drive over when I get that paint gun and we can fix everything up. Not a problem. Hey, what color is your car BTW?

I don't think I've ever hit anything that bad, but I have brushed over this wooden wall next to my garage. It left very slight scratches on my rear bumper. I can probably get them out with polish. Oh wait, I have hit the bottom of my bumper (the Tsunami) when parking and the front curb was very high. That sucked. I drove forward and I heard a scrape. Then I backed up and I felt underneath and it was scratched up.

When I get that paint gun I'll practive on my dents and scratches and I'll re-paint my whole front bumper. Then I think I'll be good enough to hook you guys up.

Ah, goodie. Same color as mine. If I buy the paint first then you won't have to buy it. Yeah, I hate looking at my scratches and what not too. Do you have any dents? We can take care of those as well...

nah no dents, I have some "strech marks" cause the the bummer flexed when I reversed into the truck, only noticable when looking real close tho.

That's an interesting topic. I don't know... I think they may actually help the car's aerodynamics. Look up stuff about the aerodynamics of a golfball for example.

There you go! To summarize:

Quote
In fact, a dimpled golf ball has only about half the drag of a smooth one.
Therefore dents are in fact good for the aerodynamics of a car.

I know, but it is proven to be more aerodynamic. It might just not look all that great.

this isnt news you guys. i saw the thing about dimples like 5 years ago on discovery channel. beyond 2000 was an AWESOME show. they showed an experiment with a regular bat and a dimpled bat, and the dude kept hitting it over the wall like non stop with the dimpled one.
would be weird to see a car like that tho...that wouldnt be smooth at all!!! fast, but not smooth.

On that note I wonder how big the dimples have to be? Maybe the size that's on a golf ball is optimal? Maybe it changes with the size of the object? It'de be interesting for racecars to experiment with this.

PbFoot: I know. Who mentioned it first? What! What!
