Hey guys,

Sorry that I haven't been able to update the list or the forecast.

Sunday
Partly sunny with a chance of showers. Highs in the lower 80s. Chance of rain 40 percent.

hopefully it will hold off!

I've been extremely busy.
I've been re-wiring a ton of stuff in my car.
Fog lamps

adding a positive terminal inside of car (somewhere around the drive's footwell, will power strobes, fog lamps, etc.)
adding a positive terminal inside of trunk (close to where the computer will go, will power inverter for computer, etc.)
Reason for the terminals is so that if I hook any aftermarket accessory I don't have to run a wire all the way to where I need power.
after starting a small electrical fire on tuesday or wednesday I cant remember which.
I decided that I needed to fuse more stuff and being more careful about the stuff that I was doing.

I contacted the kid that sold me the monitor a month ago for my car so that should be here today (I made him overnight it)
my car is a mess right now.
I have the whole center console taken apart (around shifter area, between the 2 front seats).
I took my arm rest off.
and there are car parts all over the place.
I might leave it like that and put it back together at grey's house (depending on how much time I get before then)
and If having to do all that wasn't enough.

My Home computer (My server) decided to no recognize my 2 cd rom drives (Regular CD + CD burner)
I tried putting my new hardrive back in (formated with XP + setup with all different users and all software installed) and it says Operating System is missing.

I'm gonna try and fix all that today.

I hear ya. Though my project(s) arent as involved as yours, I've been trying to put in my fogs since Sun. I finally finished making my custom brackets and shaping the holes. Now I gotta figure out the wiring. I dont get home until 7pm tonight so I dont wanna get started and have it get dark on me, so I gotta get this done Sat sometime. And to think I was thinking I was gonna get this done in a couple hours.. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/IMG]

Yeah, now weather.com is stating a 50% chance of rain. Damn it! We'll see...
I'm going to be doing the air horn DIY today. I should get it done before the day ends.
I have all of the parts and I have almost everything figured out too, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Oh BTW, I'm gonna be bringing my soldering kit. Gonna solder my connection for my reverse indiglos and possibly my fog lights, in case anyone has a need for it.

I have a soldering iron as well, so we can solder away as much as we want... Although I don't have much solder left. I have a few other soldering implements. Such as... A solder sucker! LOL Also, a solder wick. Weird huh?

Hey guys,

I've gotten a ton of stuff done, so I'm happy!

it turns out that my CD-Burner is "D....E....D...... dead" (it sounds better when you say it)
It won't even power up.

I fixed my server.
setup all the users again, re-installed the wireless network, re-installed office 2000 pro.

I put my fog lamps back on last night. I took them off to put strobes in them.
my car is still 1/2 taken apart.

I got my monitor (FINALLY)
itz bigger than I was expecting, but itz really nice (so I have to re configure my plans).

are we all still getting together even if it rains?
I'm gonna buy the stuff either tomorrow, or sunday morning.

Oh yeah,
I also finished putting the camera in yesterday.(at my g/f's house)
I went to test is, and couldn't cuz I left the battery at home.
I will test it now and let you guys know how it turns out.
If it comes out nice I will upload the video.

Hey TwilightX, do you mind BBQing in the rain? haha

I went for a short drive (up one street, down another) and I took video of it.
I didn't like the quality of it (it might be better at night with the current setup)
the camera is light correcting (if you point it at a light source it will output all white for about a second or so (maybe less) and then it will correct the brightness and contrast and you can then see again.
Same thing with if you are pointing it at a light source and then change to a dark non lit area. it will output all black and then it will auto correct and you can see after about a second.
The way I have it now, I don't think that it has any direct light hitting it (so it thinks that it is dark) and then when you drive around a sunny area you can barely make anything out.
and it won't auto correct because it isn't getting direct light.
I may have to push the camera forward a little and that might fix it.
I will try it tonight and see what happens.

Well, if it does rain we can always just do some installs in the garage. If it rains during the BBQ, then we can still BBQ outside and serve the food inside. I CANNOT wait to see this setup. I can't even imagine what it looks like. I definitely agree that we need to still get together even if there's a chance of rain. This looks to be a pretty sweet gathering and I am looking forward to it!

Hey guys,

honestly the setup isn't anything crazy.

Itz just a small camera that I bought a while back,
I made a small water proff case for it and it is painted with B92P(thatz my paint code) paint.
and it is in the front grill right next to the H. you actually can't even see it (unless you look for it)
It is still in the development stages.
I was also using Windows Movie Maker to capture the video and it is very choppy. I don't know why, but it is.
Still has a long way to go.
I have to work all next week too, So I will not have a ton of time to work on my car (computer, camera, etc)

Haha! On weather.com the chance of rain went down to 30%. Good.

The camera thingie sounds really good. That's what I want to do, but I don't want to use a computer and computer cameras. Instead I will use small security cameras and small LCD screens. I'll have to mount them somewhere inside the cabin. I would prefer them to be flush with an interior panel. Somewhere up front... Hmm... Maybe pop-up?

Then I'de mount one in each bumper on the passenger side. That's where it's the hardest to guage distance, so it would help me out the most when parking. I'de mount them behind the bumper and I'de drill a hole for them to look out of. Then I'de buy a piece of one way colored glass, or something that prevents someone seeing the camera, but allows the camera to look out with no obstruction. One way mirror maybe?

Anyway, I have this security catalog. I could do this for as little as $200. Although if I want color cameras and LCD's it might be more. Depends though. Maybe I can get everything off of Ebay?

something about my camera.

It is a security camera! (not a computer camera)
I'm using a video capture card (which sux that I have to use it)

My dad just trew out our camcorder with 3.5 in screen (just what I needed too)
cuz it wasn't recording or something stupid like that.
I got my camera for like $30 shipped on e-bay.

you can get a color one for decently in-expensive too.

well I will talk to you guys more about it tomorrow.

I'm planning on washing my car early (hopefully, cuz it needs it)
and then going and getting all the stuff (so that it will be fresh) and then going to grey's at around 12 or 1.
