NE Suspension Shop or DIY
Hey guys, I've got an 01 EX Sedan with blown factory struts. I've also got the TSB spring issue as well, so I basically need a new suspension settup.
I wanna go w/ set it and forget it suspension but w/ factory like quality.
I was thinking some Koikio (SP) blue struts with some brand of springs, haven't decided yet, and of course camber kits. Anyone know of a good shop in MA or RI? I haven't put my rims on yet cause I'm afraid of f'ing one up w/ our roads. If someone in the area has done it, I will do it w/ them and even $$ some cash. Thanks for the imput - Duane

depends on how much you want to spend. If you have the $$$ get coilovers Tein's are nice. A lof of places can do the install for you if you decide not to do it yourself. If you buy the stuff and want it put on properly, I know a shop here in CT that can do it for you. Prob take them like 2-3 hours. I think they would just charge you for labor.

yeah, I would spend the money on tiens, however every time you adjust the height, you need to re-adjust the camber and get the car re-aligned, right?

if you can come to spfld, i can do it without a problem (hence my sig below) and it will be a lot cheaper then a shop.....ive done more then 10 spring/strut jobs with my boy, let me know.....ive already helped out a couple members on here with suspension jobs so they can vouge for me if they see this.

^^ yeah but it looks gay when the rear tires are angled in.
I would go for TeinSS coilovers. You would have to get your alignment done every time you adjust it, but just figure out what height you want, and then get it aligned, and you dont have to worry about it.

who gives a **** about the angle dude???? it looks kinda cool.....if not gonna screw this kid and tell him to buy something that is not needed. ive never had any wear problems ever and neither have any of my friends that are lowered. my 01 was so low to the point where my forearem would get stuck under the front bumper. never any problems.

In all fairness brandon, I don't really think they care too much about not getting 50k miles out of a set of tires or uneven tire wear like you or I might.......

I ran the stock firestones on my 01 for 60k with regular alignments (every 20-25k) and regular rotation (every 10-15k).
Edit: On my 04, I'm already at 25k and the Potenza tires look new still. I should be able to get 60k out of them as well.
If you guys are getting 20-30k out of yours, you either have an alignment issue (aka lowering your car) or you are buying pretty shitty tires (aka Kuhmo's)

really? you don't get uneven tire wear? you must....guys i work w/ have the shitty angled rear wheels, and their tires are **** every year. My 17's (tires alone) were 600$$, I really don't wanna replace them too soon, I'd rather spend the money on the kit....don't really know what to do now...........
